This is barley tea!
Tea means a lot of different things to a lot of different cultures. For Americans, most think or prefer sweet tea, which is black tea with a ton of sugar. In most American restaurants, you'll get a version of black tea or sweet tea. I believe British individuals also like a variety of black tea. Black tea, is therefore what Westerners are used to, what's normal for "tea". But the truth is tea is a varied and beautiful thing. There are red teas, herbal teas, green teas, white teas, and so on.This product is not black tea and will taste nothing like black tea. It's unsweetened, so it's a bit bitter. This is a barley tea, and if anyone has ever had barley tea, you'd know what it'll taste like. If you're familiar with Asian teas, you'll probably have had this once before. But if you've mostly gotten tea from Lipton, or an American brand, all your life, this tea will shock you and probably disappoint you. Get this if you want an unsweetened, healthier tea and prepare for a very different flavor than you're used to.I love this tea so much! For me personally, it's all I ever wanted in a tea and what I need tea to be for me. I hate sweet tea and I'm usually not a fan of black tea or mass-produced black tea. I knew what I was getting when I first bought it because I'm very familiar with a variety of teas and with Japanese brands and flavors. I'm getting my second shipment now, and for as long as it's available I'll be frequently purchasing it. This is a good barley tea, smooth and easy, with just the right amount of bitterness with no after taste. Thank you for making it available to purchase here on Amazon! <3

Healthy Choice and Great Tasting Japanese tea 5 Star all the way
We tried this Japanese tea both served cold over ice and also based on a friend's recommendation, heated it as a hot tea. I must say that the taste was pretty amazing and I actually enjoyed it hot after a meal. Very soothing and great taste. No sugar and no caffeine as well as made in Japan is what prompted us to try this but absolutely glad we took a chance. We are not even Japanese but love sushi and know Japanese are very quality conscious so thought of it as an asian excursion experience at home during lock down. Highly recommend.

Love It
I love this blend of tea. Taste just like the traditional barley tea I grew up drinking in Asia, which makes sense because this originated from Japan. I really enjoy the blend of this tea, it has a hint of corn tea, which is very similar to the traditional Korean corn tea. This is a wonderful sugar and sweetener free tea. If you are someone that REQUIRES some degree of sweetness to your tea, this is probably not for you. Overall another great product from Asahi. Thank you so much!

Refreshing
I got a bottle of the 16 Herb Jurokucha as part of gift basket and loved it. I thought this would be similar but it isn't even close as far as flavor. However, I drink it after a workout and it is refreshing. It has an interesting complex flavor. I still prefer the 16 Herb made in Japan as it is lightly sweet and has lingzhi as an ingredient.

It tastes like a mouthful of smoke
I have been looking for a bottled decaf tea. I’m still looking. This is the nastiest stuff I’ve ever tried. It tastes like smoke, I kid you not. I poured it out. The search is on again…

Love it will buy more
I really like this. I discovered corn tea in Hawaii, and this is a close second to that. And this tastes good. I Love the flavor. I will buy this again.
