Informative and easy quick facts!
Loved this book for an attractive nice coffee table book that’s easy to scim through to find the information you want. We have a new Lab puppy so this was a helpful resource for us.

A good all around guide to Labs
We just got our 3rd lab but it's been a few years since our last old dog died so I wanted to brush up on helpful ideas and facts for our new lab. The book is well written with lots of cute pictures. It helped me remember some of the tricks I used to train our last dogs. Labs are so smart they do train well but it's important not to use methods that might cause problems later on.

Covers all aspects of the Labrador breed
To-the-point, important information about Labradors. Covers temperament, personality, behavior, training, nutrition, health care, exercise needs, breeding essentials, breed history, puppy training, and more. Lots of good info specific to the breed--not just another book about dogs.

Lab puppies with little kids!
The book on the whole is very good, I disagree with 2 points. She talks about having a lab puppy with young kids. These young puppies tend to mouth everything and bite, especially young children moving their hands around. Even adults not used to dogs start waving their hands around and get a shock when the adorable puppy grabs on like an alligator! The second thing the is a lab owner should always be using a crate to transport your dog safely in a car. These dogs are high energy and have been known to chew a car seat up in a matter of minutes, not mention all the dog hair a lab sheds. Otherwise the book would be a 5 star, just be aware what you are getting when you take on one of the most lovable and loyal dogs around.

Not what I wanted
I thought I was getting a book and I did not and I cannot print anything . Waste of money!

Quite disappointed
I found this to be a very generalised overview on dogs. There was very little specific info on labs. The section on training was particularly poor.

All you need to know in one book
Jo de Klerk style of writing is easy to interpret, her book,' the complete Guide to Labrador Retrievers is an easy read; packed with evidence, based theory and accompanied with adequate photographic-illustration - I found it a pleasure to read.

Black and white photos and fact boxes
Heads up that while the version we see online has great colour photos and fact boxes, the version received is all in black and white and not great quality. So personally I am very disappointed and feel this to be deceiving.
