Love it!
This is my second planer. The first one was from a different manufacturer and the blade was set so low it wouldn't shave. Tried to adjust but there was no room. Tried this one and loved it immediately. It does exactly what I need it to do with great results and the price was right.

Not worth it
Does a lousy job, not worth any money. Spend more and get a better one.

ADJUST THE BLADE
Okay so I usually don’t write reviews but I feel like this will help someone! For whatever reason, finding a planer that is already in the US is nearly impossible. I don’t mind shopping internationally but I needed a planer faster than the international ones would have arrived to me (unless I wanted to pay for expensive shipping). ANYWAYS, the reviews on this planer were kind of all over the place with the biggest issue being the misplacement of the blade. Which is true and I was going to return the item because it didn’t work at all.HOWEVER, because I was tired of trying to find planers I could get soon and without costing me too much money, I looked at it more and honestly all you have to do is ADJUST THE BLADE. I took a screwdriver and just loosened the screws a bit (didn’t take them out) and pushed the blade forward to where it sorta snapped in place. I held it there and tightened the screws back up and now it works ✨PERFECTLY✨ took me like two minutes to adjust it. That’s literally all you gotta do and you got yourself a decent planer. So if you’re like me and need a cheaper planer sooner rather than later...and you own a screwdriver, this is the one. Hope this helps!

Helps in cutting soap
You can easily adjust the blade, slightly, to a more fitted length, as I have. The cut is smooth and it is easy to use this. The wood material is good. I use this for soap making at home and I find this device quite useful and efficient. I think this will also last for quite some time.

Nice
Looks super basic, but it works very well. I just need a steadier hand. It's sometimes difficult for larger blocks though, because the "runway" feels a little short and I end up sliding the soap off the edge sometimes.EDIT: After some use, the blade keeps loosening and slipping lower and lower. I have to adjust the screws on the back once in a while to get it back to planing normally, and it gets pretty annoying and inconsistent.

Arrived Broken
Decided just to glue it. Works fine. It was extremely wrapped in bubble wrap, goes to show how rough mail carriers are.

THE CUTTING BLADE
Attached is photo of cutter blade, hopefully you can see close up of the blade edge. Unbelievable... the jagged edge and huge burr leaves the same impression on soap. The manufacturer apparently has little to no quality control. I can hardly believe they would market this junk. Like most I do read reviews and should have relied more heavily on the negatives for this particular purchase.

a must have.
My soaps look much better using this little planer. It is small but very effective and easy to clean.

Very sharp yet smooth
The wood is very smooth and didn't leave any streaks on the soap bars. The blade is very sharp: I tried it on fully cured bars and it planed the top nicely (soap had been made in a 9×12 pan so was quite bumpy). The shavings weren't overly thick so didn't lose more than I wanted to. The 2 grooves can be used to bevel the edges and it worked better than my potato peeler! I will not wash it in water not to disturb the woodgrain but maybe oil the wood to seal it. Overall just perfect!

Great shaver. Used constantly.
I would be most without this now. Don't know what i did without it.

Blade Moves - Waste of Money
Waste of money because the blade moves. I purchased ~ 6months ago, and did not need to use it until now. It should be working like new. Every time I push a bar of soap across, the blade recedes. The screws cannot be tightened tight enough. They need a piece in the back that stops the blade from moving. Unfortunately, this goes in recycling.
