Defective
Five *****,when they work, this one that I received was defective, when I installed the batteries, it worked, but when I installed the clip, it stopped working, it had bad connection inside, when I squeezed the clip tight, it would work, and when I let it go it stopped working.What I did was I put Piece of coke can tab between the batteries and I got it working.

GREAT PRICE, EASY TO USE
I am a HAM radio operator and need to check circuits a lot without a multimeter everytime. This makes it easy to quickly check voltages and continuity. Open the box, put the batteries in, and go to work. As far as the one star review saying this is technical to use, I can only say that it does not get any easier than watching the bulb light up red when you check a circuit. Maybe he bought a different model. Great price, and a neccesity for any electronic tool box.

Perfect little tester for very low price
This is exactly what I was looking for. I looked many local stores but couldn't find anything like this. Plastic feels a little cheap, so I wouldn't use it as a screw driver. But other than that perfect for checking live wire during any electrical work you do by yourself.

Piece of crap
This is the worth acquisition i made at Amazon: the packaging was that old that it was yellowish, half opened, and the batteries included inotnthe package were corroded! They knew it so they nicely provided with a set of battery separately... But it works but uncertain i want to risk my life though by trusting it and checking the current

I've owned this item before and use it all the time. Very good to test for voltage. I have not found anything I like better.

Confusing instructions
I write 'tech docs', so I'm no 'complete idiot' when it comes to figuring out how electro/mechanical things work. But the directions for this item are so unclear, I just shelved this unit until some day when I have the time to figure out what the instructions are 'trying' to say. I guess you're already supposed to be familiar with these kinds of items...so they don't bother telling you things that you are already 'supposed-to-know'.
