As soon as I connected a 12v load it started smoking. And yes I connected to the right polarity it's just a pice of junk

Works great
Works great. Used to control the speed of 2x 130cfm 12V bilge fans. Nice feature is that the dial also functions as an off switch. Handles the current fine, where other units have burned out.Only negative is that the terminal block is external to the case, which leaves the cables more prone to damage.
