Reasonably strong
I tested the strength of one of these buckles by pulling on the straps as hard as I could and it held. That's good enough for my application. I was hoping that I could simply pull on the end of the strap inserted in the buckle to tighten the strap, but unfortunately I have to pull on part of the strap inserted through the first slot to tighten the strap and then pull the slack through the second slot to hold it tight. Not a big deal, but it would have made tightening the strap easier if I could simply pull on the end of the strap such that it holds when I release it.Update: I found an alternative that works better for me. The nylon strap kit I bought includes metal D rings. My motorcycle helmet uses D rings as a strap buckle, and that works very well. I tried using a couple of D rings from my kit on my strap and, as it turns out, that makes a great buckle. Simply pull on the strap until snug, and it holds. Also, it's easy to release when you want to loosen the strap.

high impact plastic
Looks like high impact type plastic and look forward to using. 50 units will give me a lifetime supply if I don't lose them.

Not durable, doesn't hold grip.
Used with a sturdier 3/4 webbing and it slipped right through when cinched up. Doesn't seem to grip the strap on either end.

Warning! Sized Wrong!
Beware! These are half inch NOT 5/8". The seller measured from the outside of the buckle and not the inside which determains the size of webbing used with them. They should be labled 1/2" to coinside with the webbing they are made forNot worth the hastle of sending back but
