Very comprehensive music volume for this composer.

I know lots of Jobim but at least HALF the book was new to me. 47 songs - a lot!!

Great collection of Jobim tunes, known & obscure. There are some mistakes in form and some chords, but mostly correct.

This truly is a definitive work. I have been trying to find this edition of Bonita for years, and all the other songs are a wonderful bonus. I highly recommend buying this book, if you only buy one Jobim book, make it this one!!!

This book has 47 pieces, and they are great! The harmonization is original (perfect), and an intermediate player can handle most of the songs without difficulties. Actually, this is the book I use the most!

This is a wonderful collection of music from a great composer. Love his music and this is a fairly exhaustive group of his works.

Awesome collection of music. My only disappointment was that the chord voicing nor the left hand rhythm isn't very close to what Tom Jobim would play (e.g., Girl from Ipanema).

Probabilmente la più esaustiva raccolta delle partiture originali dei capolavori musicali del gradissimo Jobim, perfetta per piano, voce e chitarra, uno strumento indispensabile per qualsiasi musicista appassionato di bossa nova. Acquistato peraltro ad un prezzo veramente competitivo grazie ed Amazon.it, lo consiglio senza remore.

Jobim was a genius and his compositions are worthy of study by all jazz musicians. Whilst some of his songs such as 'Girl from Ipanema' have arguably been played to death and the music is easy to find in real books, some of his materpieces are rather more obscure.I bought this volume initially in order to study the beauful song Fotografia. On turning to this particular song in this book, I find that although credits are given both for Portuguese and English lyrics, the lyrics are not actually included. There are other songs to investigate but I have already noticed that Captain Bacardi (words and music by Antonio Carlos Jobim) also has no lyrics attached. What are Hal Leonard thinking of?This volume also includes chord boxes. This should be fine but many of the chords are utterly inapproprite to the average jazz guitarist. It would have suited me far better to see the chord boxes removed and the chord names written rather larger above the stave. In 'How Insensitive', the chords given fail to pay any attention to the moving bassline. Frankly, they would have been more appropriate in a 'Made Easy'or 'Buskers' volume, certainly not one claiming to be 'Definitive' My real book gives the correct changes showing slash chords to give bassline movements and Aguas de Marco in this volume does, so why not How Insensitive? This is sloppiness!Hal Leonard has a high reputation in the area of materials for jazz players and frankly, I expected rather more from this volume and feel rather let down.Definitive it most certainly isn't.

Collezione di Jobim fatta bene con partiture di qualita' e complete ( in chiave Sol e Basso) con indicazione degli accordi e della loro posizione nella tastiera. Unico neo, per me, I testi sono in inglese...mah
