Here at Dawn: Poetry and Prose

I have only read a few excerpts from this book and I already love it. I'm buying two more copies for friends as well. I would recommend!!!

Such a great book. One of those "I needed to hear that right now" books. Would be a great gift for yourself or others!

Love love everything about this book!

This is one of the more comforting poetry books that I’ve had the pleasure of reading in awhile.As a lover of lavish words, I truly felt the care and consideration that Taplin put into creating each poem. Their use of language creating scenery with the cosmic of emotions within us, all while being accessible and understandable even to the most casual reader.The themes also range in topics that touch upon the variety of magic in living through the ups and downs of life. None of it feeling too repetitive or over killed as you continue through the book. I could go through the reading lost in the world Taplin created and want to savor it.Additionally, the page breaks between the different sections in the book introduced full pages of colors and textures that came as a refreshing surprise. Each feeling like an abstract art piece. So that all together, I found this book wonderfully packaged and perfect for cozy reading.

When prose or a written word feels like the kind of conversation you've had in your head at some point in time, that right there is familiarity. Beau's poems in this collection elicit that.To some readers, they'd find it 'okay' however I am not in that category, rather I went on a journey with Beau found myself nodding at 'The Lines of Resistance' healing upon reading 'Fragments' and definitely being more cautious with my relation to other people after reading 'Cruel Intentions' and valuing relationships correlating them to 'Hostels and Homes,' before finally being reminded that indeed his wish for every being on earth is that we may rise before dawn, every so often.I loved the illustrations here!

This is a wonderfully emotive and relatable book of poetry and prose. Taplin is very skilled at capturing the human experience beautifully and clearly. Time and again, it felt like he had looked into my heart and mind and written down what he found there. I bookmarked and highlighted like crazy throughout the book!This deserves every one of the 5-stars I've given it. Thank You Netgalley for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.Let me start by saying that this book is absolutely magical and a delight to read. Beau Taplin's writing left my heart feeling full. The collection was beautifully written, captivating, and easily relatable. It covers a range of topics such as self- acceptance, self- discovery, healing, finding the magic in the little things.I will definitely be picking up a copy and look forward to read more from the author.However, I feel like the poetry could have been better organized.Review also posted to my Goodreads account.

I received and ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I think the poems have a very genuine voice. The verses were uplifting, sometimes sounding more like mantras or meditations than poems. I enjoyed them, I was expecting more novel use of the language, though.

Lovely presentation, really good quality. Let it fall open and enjoy the journey.
