Great pump...Until it Burns up
Great little pump...until it burns up. One of the fastest I've used to inflate my 14' raft. Unfortunately, they don't last long. My first one lasted about 9 months and was replaced (no hassle) under the 1-year warranty. That one lasted about 14 months (past the warranty). I purchased another one which lasted just over a year. Now my 4th one has just died (14 months). I have kept buying them because they are fast and push plenty of pressure. However, enough is enough. No more of these pumps for me. By the way, when mine have failed, it has been because the plastic pump case got too hot and either melted the drive belt into the plastic or melted the teeth off the impeller. If you then try to run it after the belt is melted into (and then hardened into) the plastic housing, you will then fry the motor.

NO! No! I thought this was the bomb
So I've grown up river rafting on 16 and 18 foot rafts. Dad had/has this little green pump that is AWESOME, never seen anything blow up a boat so fast. I was thrilled when I found one. Or at least I thought I found his exact one, I'll have to check for sure. Anyway, I've had mine two years and used it maybe 10 times and yes......it stopped working. At least it didn't catch fire like the other reviews. It got warm, started smoking and stopped blowing air. I figure if I had kept it running it might had caught fire.Worth it....its hard to say. Would I put $100 into this every several years?. I'd have to say probably, especially if you were inflating boats often. It's just so fast, small and convenient. When mine stopped working I used my brothers generic electric pump. It took much longer to the point of frustration. Dad said he always opens the boat values fully before pumping. This might sound like a funny comment, but values are now made to typically allow air pass the value and inflate, even when closed. I didn't realize, but when the value is closed is is putting more pressure on the pump. In fact, my brothers pump wouldn't even push through the value. So I'll try opening up the value next time. Also, many times I find I'm inflating other boats with this pump other than mine because it is so awesome. So fast. Obviously I need to let it rest and cool down. Don't try to fully inflate your boat. Top off with the hand pump. So yes, you do have to baby this pump like the other reviews have indicated. But, I still haven't found anything this small that inflates this fast. Anyone aware of anything else that is more reliable and as fast?

Disapointed
Unfortunately the item received was not the UK made version, but rather made in China. It did not have the capacity that that the original UK versions I have seen and used (other peoples' unit.) The picture posted listed the UK version but the China version was delivered. I returned the unit.

Excellent Value
The Rule inflator/deflator is nearly half the price of the LVM product and works perfectly. It inflates my 9' pontoon in less than 3 minutes, although a quick top off with a hand pump to reach 3 psi is required. It looks somewhat cumbersome but fits the hand well and has a large variety of adapters. Fortunately I have Bravo values and don't need an adapter--the extension from the pump works fine.Rule has been around a long time, and makes pretty good products. I've always had Rule bilge pumps and they've never failed. This pump has a good quality feel even though it's made overseas. The only reason I chose a 4 star rating was that unlike most pumps, the adapters must be broken off the plastic holder to use. It would be better if the holder was flexible because some will certainly be lost.I see no advantage to opting for the LVM over this one, however the LVM longevity may be superior. Too early to tell. They appear to be virtually identical. Highly recommended

NO SPARES - DO NOT BUY
On initial receipt and testing of the inflator I was ecstatic !The Inflator exceeded my expectations and then some. My ORDER PLACED January 3, 2023 Delivered January 17.This weekend the device stopped working. On inspection the gears on the impeller wheel are all worn off.Fortunately I can return/replace by 3 March so that is the route I am now following.Such a pity:-(

Good Pump for Price Pump That Requires Care
I have owned a couple of these and find them to a be a decent option for the price point. It's a good pump but unfortunately not a long-term investment. The ones I have owned have generally lasted for a few years as long as you are careful with them. If it starts to get warm, let it set for a bit. And if the plastic handle gets stuck in the on position, immediately pull the clip off the battery and cut the power so you can get the switch unstuck. When I have burned one out it is when I was careless and ran it non-stop for a long time (several minutes) without a rest. This pump seems to be good for about 2 PSI. For rafts that you generally want to get to 2.5 PSI, you will need to top off with a hand pump.

Piece of Garbage!!
I used this thing maybe five times last year to inflate my raft and then pulled it out again the other day; one year and one week after purchasing it. It overheated, started smoking and DIED! Given that it died one week after the warranty period, the seller won't warranty it. Spend the money and get one from NRS!
