Cut and Collage: A Treasury of Bizarre and Beautiful Images for Collage and Mixed Media Artists Paperback – March 27, 2020

I was a little underwhelmed when i got the package because the pages were double sided and the book was slim. BUT THEN I noticed that there is a digital download option that you may use and download / redownload and print the images you'd want to work with as many times as you'd like! i really lived that feature because I want to be able to use up all the images PLUS it gives me the free room to "mess up" and try again.if you are looking only to cut this book and not use the download / print option or cannot / do not have access to that, this might be a little disappointing.if you have access to a printer then this is really great and a good bang for your buck and is reusable technically so its great

As a Collage Freak, this is just pure gold! My favorite thing is that the curator had the generosity to include a download of all the images, so we can redo our botched cutting, or so we can do MORE of the same image. I love that!! DO BE AWARE that there are some disturbing images of medical history that will make your eyes pop. It WILL remind you that we are not totally in the Medieval times anymore with medicine. Yikes!!! Enjoy! And learn!

This is a very cool book but, I would have liked a little more variety in the style of the art. It kind of all looks the same. The other thing that is glaring is that, these pictures are meant to be cut out and yet, there is print on both sides of the page. I’m so if you cut one thing out, you’re destroying whatever was on the back. And some of the pages have cool pictures on the back and front and it sucks to have to choose which one you will lose. I feel like they should have given all the images there own place so all the images are usable but, because of this only half of them are.

I am biased to like bizarre things, so this fit the bill. I would buy other products from this publisher.

This is my 2nd purchase and am following for more. I will be the first one purchasing future books. Great pics, perfect for my collating!

I recently ordered and reviewed 6 of the top rated collage books on the market including this one. While this is better than most, there are a few things holding it back from being the Best. I'll explain. The images inside are the same public domain images you can find online. The value of any collage book is that it saves you from searching and printing yourself. The first problem I have is that the images themselves are surrounded by massive areas of plain original background, which eats up a ton of real estate in the book. Better books in the marker take time to remove the backgrounds and consolidate the images so many can fit on one page. The second problem I have is the pattern images interspersed throughout the book. Don't get me wrong, there are some really lively and vivid images, print quality is decent for a KPD book (akin to thick magazine paper), however if you're a collage artist or art journaler, you'll find it's mostly unusable given the images themselves are samples from an old pattern book and most are about 2 inches by 2 inches - not even large enough for small photo matts. This artists series' could easily dethrone the best (cheaper, better, bigger) out there if they took a bit more time editing and consolidating images, and editing the pattern filler so that more of it is usable as borders or backgrounds in art. As is it, you can find all these images online and print yourself if you're willing to do the work.

Not only are the images huge, but it comes with free high res downloads. I tried several other collections and this was by far the best.

I was excited for this book and the pictures are nice, but they are printed on both sides of the page so you can only use one side. This is super annoying if you like the picture on both sides! It comes with a code to download and print the pictures, but I don't own a printer so there's no way for me to get both sides. Wish I returned this before it was too late.
