wow this is a heavy duty item, arrived much earlier than stated by Amazon. heavy duty Dutch oven. we burnt our food to unrecognizable charcoal in it the first night using it camping. we underestimated how hot it could get. but a great purchase. This item was something I have wanted for a long time and it performed as planned made a great stew. This has been one of my favourite camping accessories. Every time my family camps we make a dump cake or soup. The quality has been great. They are heavy though and storing them can be an issue in a camper. I'd recommend a zip up tote bag to protect the Dutch oven and anything in it's vicinity. The 6 quart is plenty big for a family of 4. You could probably feed 6-8 with it completely full. Love this!! I made the no knead bread in it, I was able to put it in the oven with the legs resting in between the rack but hard to manoeuvre in oven with the lid being so heavy. The bread however turned out great! Made chili outside on my porch that was awesome. Can't wait to use on camping trip! Also in an emergency with no power this one item can be a cooking pan, oven, or flip lid to use as a skillet. Highly recommend it!! Well worth the money and plan on buying more cast iron.

I bought it as I like winter camping adventures and have always fancied cooking on an open fire.I done take my phone with my when I camp but here are some pictures from the test cook I had in my kitchen.I followed the instructions on seasoning the oven and used an organic flax oil as recommended on some websites.It took the best part of the day to season it so make sure you factor this in when planning a cook.The oven it's self is very thick and heavy which is just what you need when cooking on an open fire. It comes with a lid that doubles as a pan and a lid lifter which is great for when it's hot.The spiral handle does reduce the heat to make it wmsafe when moving from the flame but please wear gloves as it does still retain lots of heat.It cooked a very basic campsite stew on it which simmered away for most of the day. It was delicious and the meat was so very tender.

This is my first review, the shockingly poor quality of this purchase compelled me to try and help others avoid this item.The wooden box is a quality joke, so much so I imagine the supplier laughing about making money selling such rubbish!!! Not to me though, it’s going straight back!!!I’ve not checked the pots and pans though, why would you?Avoid this seller like the plague.....Review update;Firstly I apologise for placing this review before contacting the seller, who has since resolved my concern speedily and to my satisfaction.My initial concern was with the damage to the wooden box only. The cast iron pots and pans are in my opinion very good quality, each item is suitably thick bottomed with a quality heavy feel to them.

We have recently started working with some outdoor experts that really know their stuff when it comes to gathering items from the woods to cook up, so we wanted to do it all properly and get something cooking out in the sticks. This is a seriously weighty pot that stands up to the flames nicely, you wouldn't even know it had been anywhere near the heat once cooled down, the top also has little feet so you can turn it upside down to use as a surface or a cooking area if you need to.

Good sturdy Dutch oven. Keeps the heat in well. I have used it with and without the tripod and functions well either way.Needs 'proving' before use but this was quite easy to do.Managed to bake bread successfully on the first attempt.

This is a large pot and as such is excellent value for money, the cast is good and the pot lid fits well, the only downside is that it's not pre seasoned, it takes lots of patience and a great deal of time to get the interior to a point where it's properly seasoned. Came really well packaged and will easily feed 4-6 people with ample room to spare.

This is a proper piece of kit! It's really solid and very very heavy ... You certainly get what you pay for in this quality made Dutch oven.It's cast iron so will last years and years .. and can be used to cook on just about anything from wood to coal and gas too!It comes with a really solid lifting handle so you can remove the lid safely and easily.

Absolutely love it made chicken in it with all the veg was delicious and we made a big pot of stew with loads of carrots, turnip, potatoes and broccoli absolutely smashing great big pot defo recommend
