The English Language: A Linguistic History

Bought this book for an Undergrad Linguistics course. Didn't enjoy having to read it at the time but I have since gone back and read through it. A very engaging book compared to similar texts.Font is not teeny-tiny, there are lots of good maps and pictures of original texts. The history spans from Old English, up into modern times. Great insight into the English language, lots of good stuff in this text for word-nerds.

I bought this as a college text because amazon sells this for much less expensive. So i look forward to reading and learning from this book.

this is really difficult material

I'm sorry to say it was bad and poorly.why is that, because the book was wreck and not be able to use. the pages is rip a part and dirty.I would advise not to sell such a thing without checking the quality first, especially a university book that one might need for education!!

Good source, has a lot of information in one place which is good for this subject.
