This adjustable bed base is making a difference in our lives
The bed base was left IN OUR DRIVEWAY. The delivery guys didn't even knock on the door. The boxes are HEAVY. If you bought the base to relieve back pain, you had better arrange for help (we made a call). That said, once the bed base was opened and the legs screwed on, it was fairly simple to turn it over, and put it in place. The base is easy to plug in and the remotes worked perfectly right away. The sides of the base are securely covered in a medium weight gray material. The bed surface is covered in a thin black plastic membrane - nicely textured - about the thickness of a thin plastic food storage bag (not the freezer type). By the time our base was set up, despite the care taken, there was a tiny tear in the membrane. There is a raised rectangular 1" 'bump' on the surface of each base, top and bottom (we have a split king) where the lift mechanism sits beneath the plane of the base. This has not yet affected use of the 'lift' system, nor the comfort of the sleeping system we put together..We bought expensive natural latex mattresses which work well with the base. We purposely bought 10 inch thick mattresses so the vibration choices would be most effective (back and hip pain). It really works! Even the low level vibration lulls me to sleep, and helps my husband's back pain. The mechanism and vibration is quiet enough for light sleepers. We can rise and walk in the morning without pain, and tossing and turning at night due to pain at pressure points is greatly reduced. The articulation of the lift lines, head and foot, is designed for a short person. I"m 5/7" and my husband is 6'2". By sliding towards the foot of the bed, the leg lift raises my legs into a comfortable position. Since you slide a bit when the head of the bed lifts, it's okay. My husband is not so fortunate - the leg lift only lifts his feet, and leaves calves and part of the thigh unsupported (in the air). He puts a pillow under his legs before he activates the leg lift. Had we counted on a true zero gravity position, as we have in our zero gravity chair, we would have had to return the base. I do think it's a lot of money for a base that is not better articulated (this refers to the lines on which the base 'bends' or 'opens' as it raises at head or foot. The under bed 'night light', which we didn't really want, is the best 'night light' we've ever used. Great feature!Overall, the base is well made, and functions as described. We've found ways to make the articulation work, and find significant pain relief with the base-mattress combination we chose.

Good bed overall but has some flaws to consider
This product arrived late but in excellent condition. It was shipped by a company that has terrible reviews online and guaranteed to be at my home by a certain date. They were supposed to call ahead to arrange a drop off due to its size. Several days before the guaranteed date I contacted the seller and expressed my concern of an ontime delivery as I figured if they hadn’t called to schedule a time yet it wasn’t happening by the guaranteed date. I was assured it would be there in time and not to worry. Several days passed and I contacted them again as still no word and from the shipper and now the guaranteed date had passed. I was told updates shipping info would be obtained from the shipper and provided so that I at least knew how much longer I would have to wait. Several more days passed and still nothing. I was never provided with any updates regarding shipping until the shipper finally did contact me to arrange delivery. The bed frame finally arrived over a month after it was originally ordered. I was skeptical as to the condition it would arrive in taking that long as who knows where all it went and how many trucks it was in prior to getting here however it was in perfect condition upon arrival. On to the item quality.1 this bed base is advertised as a wall hugger. That it is not. When the head is raised the base does not hug the wall but instead moves away from the wall leaving a large gap for pillows and such to fall into.2 the base has legs that have to be attached by the purchaser. No big deal as they thread on quite easily aside for one of them had a large glob of metal welding spatter in the threads of the hole. This was not a huge problem for me as I have the correct tools to clean the threads, however, a normal everyday buyer would not and it would have been impossible to assemble without the needed tools due to this manufacturing error.3 the remainder of the bed is great. The electronics are quiet and the under bed lights are perfect to illuminate the floor just enough at night to not trip on things but not so much it would wake your partner. It is sturdy (although they provide adjustable legs and have mine set at a lower level. If the legs were adjusted all the way to make the bed as tall as it would go I’m sure some of the sturdiness would disappear) and seems well made.Summary. I actually enjoy the bed and would recommend it as long as you don’t care about the wall hugging capabilities. Therefore despite the negatives mentioned I gave it 3 stars

Super happy I bought this bed!
First of all, this thing is HEAVY. As in, difficult for two large men to unbox and set up. Doable, of course, but with care.Next, this things rocks in every conceivable way. I use it with the standard Purple mattress, which is already very comfortable, and is perfect for the contortions this adjustable bed puts the mattress through. Though simple in appearance, it is stylish, and the fabric on the sides is very high end feeling. The motors are quiet as opposed to some I've heard, and the positions and choices available are numerous. Makes reading upright in bed with your feet up so easy and comfortable. The remote is useful and full-featured, my only complaint is that it should be fully backlit when you pick it up, since it is a smooth, glassy remote face, you cannot feel for the right buttons to use in the dark, and the flashlight on the underside of the remote doesn't help. That's a small critique for a product that immediately enhanced my life and quality of sleep and before-bed reading. The massage is ok, pretty powerful, actually, but it is distracting to me, so I only use it here and there. Many massage modes and presets are available, and you can program the remote for your favorite positions for head and feet. Honestly, having lived with it for a month now, I consider this bed to be a very reasonable bargain, and I wish I would have purchased it sooner. Good warranty, good manual and instructions, lots of gadgets and doo-dads with it, overall I am extremely happy with the product and the seller. Highly recommended!
