Quality for a great price
Great quality and easy assembling. I got impatient and tried to follow steps out of order and almost snapped one of the side arms so just follow the directions in order and it should take about 45 mins to put together. I didn’t mount it to the wall ( i don’t have kids or pets who would knock it over) and it seems to be sturdy. I also love the finish- it looks like real wood and compliments my decor

Great customer service but so-so shelves
This would be such a great product if the shelves weren’t damaged! Excellent customer service and they sent new shelves for the ones that were damaged - when they arrived they were also damaged. They were willing to send a new set- but the problem is I have to dispose of the damaged shelves so I turned down the offer for more shelves.Button line- great ladder shelf. The seller does stand by their product. Very easy to assemble. So -so material but excellent customer service. I do recommend- you may be fortunate to not get damaged shelves.

It's not hard to assemble
I was worried when I read the reviews about it being hard to assemble because I'm disabled; I have about 50% use of my legs and can't stand up without holding onto something. I assembled this by myself in about an hour and 15 minutes. The hardest part was getting it upright after it was assembled. The side pieces really don't have enough strength for that. I got it, but it wasn't easy - best to left in stages - floor to laying on a piece of furniture like a sofa or chair, then getting more leverage and lifting again. I have learned to lay out all the pieces according to the instructions and without assembling at first to make sure everything is facing the right way (I once assembled something with the shelves upside down). The instructions are very clear and all parts were received. You will need a phillips head screw driver, but other than that, all tools are included. It doesn't actually say to use wood glue, but it comes with some so using it in the holes where dowels are inserted is recommended. I followed suit of another reviewer and used command strips to anchor it to the wall. Works perfectly! If you want this bookcase and are concerned about buying due to the negative reviews, buy it.

Quality shelf. Good stuff. Don't be scared.
Okay listen. The reviews on this scared me. I overcame that fear because I really wanted a seafoam shelf to match my nightstand. I REALLY enjoy putting flat pack furniture together. I'm also 5'3", 105lbs and put this together by myself in under an hour. Yeah, the long bars on the side are held together by a dowel rod with a screw that secures the dowel rods. It's not actually the flimsiest thing ever, especially once it's secured to a wall. Be careful, use wood glue, lift it slowly from that center point and you're golden. Seriously not difficult at all. I anchored to the wall with Command strips and had them ready, peeled off the part that goes against the wall once it was positioned and that was that. Everything I wanted to put on there fits with some extra room. It is 100% exactly what I wanted. The finish is flawless as far as I can tell and survived a few scrapes with the allen wrench. The most challenging part was the cam lock/screw situation on the very bottom support, because the predrilled hole for the screw is just a tad tight and it's kinda hard to see. But that is some real nitpicking.

Looks so good
Was happily surprised when I set this set of shelves up. Really easy to put together (I'm 73). Already had compliments on them. I bought the dark blue.

Worrisome packaging - shelves fine - check your trim clearance
I'm not sure how I feel about this shelf. The shelf itself is lovely and fairly well made, but first and foremost, I was bothered by the PACKAGING. When my five-year-old son and I opened this up, we were met by a flurry of what looked like fiberglass dust all over the styrofoam packing in the box. Even though fiberglass isn't carcinogenic, it is highly irritating and I spent the next hour vacuuming every single piece of styrofoam, cardboard, and wood that was in this package as well as changing clothes on both myself and my son and showering to get rid of everything that stuck. I googled what fiberglass dust looks like later, and yup! That's what it looked like! So beware if you are going buy this and open it...open it outside and dress like it's hazmat sunday. Or maybe just don't buy because really???Otherwise, a fairly nice bookshelf, fairly sturdy (I say "fairly" because it's level and put together easily and isn't wobbly or anything, but there is some splitting along a few seams at the back where you can't really see them). Color is super pretty and the reason I bought this shelf. ONly drawback is that I wish I'd had dimensions on the bottom shelf because the trim in our house ended up being too high for clearance on the bottom shelf and I am no in the process of making 2" leg extensions to raise it up enough to fit. These kinds of shelves need to be flush against the wall in order to be genuinely sturdy, and this is going in my son's room where, undoubtedly, it will get leaned and jumped against (I'm adding extra brackets because the two they provide really isn't enough).Otherwise, a nice height and I like the finish and appreciate the rounded corners for being in a kiddo's room! I was thinking of buying several of these, but I wouldn't buy again just because of the packaging! It was a genuinely alarming mess, and I could feel the fibers on my skin afterwards. May they were manufacturing something in this factory the same day this got made and it blew over? I don't know. It was alarming, to say the least.

Great as a plant shelf
It was the perfect shelf for my small plants. The colour is really beautiful. But the wood and paint is sort of cheap. In terms of sturdiness, I couldn't secure it to my wall only because theres a thermostat in the way but I added a non-slip carpet to stabilize it and put my heavier plants on the bottom and it turns out to be quite stable. Otherwise on its own without carpet, it will definitely slide and fall. I would highly recommend securing to the wall if possible. Overall I am satisfied!
