Perfect for what I wanted
I have a Metolius Hangboard and I have been looking for the ideal place to mount it in my garage gym. The optimal place is above a doorway, but in my gym that space is already occupied by a large wooden peg board. My goal was to find a way that I could mount my hangboard onto the peg board, without affecting the full functionality of the peg board...ideally finding a way to take it on and off at will. I did some homework and came across these Z Clip Rails. They were the answer!! They were very easy to install and They support my bodyweight of 185 lbs. with no problem. I'm glad that I found these things...thanks!

Very Strong
These cleats are very strong. I purchased two sets of 24” long cleats to hang a 52”x80” mirror. It probably weights 200-250lbs and I t’s holding strong. I used #12 screws into both the frame and wall, and they fit the holes perfectly. There are several holes and they align with the wall studs. The cleats on the wall are attached to two studs each plus I added a few screws into the drywall using plastic anchors. It took three people to lift and hang the mirror but it hooked on pretty easily.

Overall: Good; Holes Should be Centered
I used this to hang some acoustic panels that had a 1x4 frame. The problem I ran into, was the the screw holes are not centered, they rest slightly lower on the bracket. Had they been centered, I could have mounted the brackets flush on my frame and once they were hung, you wouldn't be able to see the cleat hardware. Not a big deal, the cleats still work really well, they are very sturdy. The holes just need to be aligned better. Same with left to right, from one side the hole is 1" in from the side, however, the other side, the hole is 1/2" in from the side. Again, something minor, which is why I still gave it 4 stars. I will upload pictures later.

Great option for easy hanging
My wife asked me to build and install floating shelves. I have never built flaring shelves. I barely on enough tools to build shelves. These cleats are a lifesaver. They are super easy to install and extra sturdy. I used one 12 in bar and one 2.5 inch cleat to hold a 36 inch shelf with no problem at all. My biggest complaint is that if you use different sizes the lips will not match up well.Wish they were cheaper so I could use them more often.

Great for panels.
I used a ton of these things installing wood paneling in my home I just finished building. These are simple but work great.

They are not cut square
I was having a devil of a time trying to get my picture square. I kept on putting a level to the French cleat on the wall and on the picture — it was true every time, but I'd put it on the wall — tilted. (Grrrrrrrr)Finally, while out in the garage drilling the holes larger so there was more "wiggle" room to manually square things up, I put an engineer's square along the side, and the whole thing is not cut square; neither end.Fortunately, all you have to do is to drill the holes larger (or use smaller screws) so you rotate the Cleat as necessary to have your pictures square on the wall. That is, unless you're into modern art. :>)

Perfect product to have a hidden frame hanger
We recently upgraded our alarm/automation system and the controls work much better from an iPad app. Having an old iPad in a drawer I built a nice Oak frame to mount it to the wall, but needed a way to secure it that would allow using the touch screen without the iPad swinging.sliding on the wall. These Z Clips were perfect!! One in each corner of the frame and when it locks into place the iPad is rock solid on the wall.
