Truly the Best OTA Antenna Available!
Let me start by saying I researched a lot of OTA antennas before discovering this new Marathon Plus Whole-House unit. Aside from being specifically designed to replace my cable service and power multiple TVs, I was interested in the new technology it offered - especially because many antennas that I read about claimed to be “New for 2020” yet they had reviews from several years ago (how can they be truly new?). Now to the details about this Marathon Plus unit: excellent packaging, comprehensive well-written 10 page instruction manual, everything included to mount or place the unit indoors or outside, and excellent engineering/construction. It took about 15 minutes to connect this in place of my Spectrum service to deliver over 40 channels to all 4 of my TVs, and it outperformed the reception maps I had referenced. BTW: the Free Signal TV website also has a reception map portal for aiming guidance (and they sent me an email after ordering with their own aiming recommendations based on my location – find another antenna company doing that!). We are now watching all our local and regional channels for Free in stunning HD and streaming other programs that we used to pay a lot of money for with Spectrum. All I can say is the extra expense of this unit is well worth the money. You get what you pay for with antennas – and in my opinion, having a unit that truly utilizes the latest engineering and design makes the Marathon Plus the best choice to cut the cord.

Very Good Product and Excellent Customer Service
I have have been using the Marathon Plus DTV Antenna for nearly a year now and we have been very happy with this product. It does service 4 TVs for us with solid reception and the newer TVs have a 'guide' function where information outlines the scheduling for the local channels. This function typically takes 3-4 seconds to populate. The picture quality is very good as well. After installing the DTV Antenna, I ran the input into the hub where the cable was fed into the house. This allowed me to push the signal across the same fiber cables we had used for the cable service. I was a bit unsure of the existing splitter and contacted Marathon's support team. The individual that I spoke with was quite knowledgeable and friendly. He helped me with my questions and, transparently, i am writing this review primarily because i do feel i owe them quite a big Thank you :-) .. I am in no way an expert w/ this type of hardware and with their direction, the set-up really was easy and it's been working great! Thank you!

Happy with my purchase
I purchased this unit over a year ago so that I could cut the cord because I was tired of paying $100+ every month for garbage tv that I don't even watch. I thought this was a bit pricey, but decided to take a chance given the return guarantee. It did take me some time to find the "sweet spot" in my attic for the unit, which involved several trips up and down the ladder over the course of a week. Once I got it right, I have been SO happy with the signal and fact that I cut the cord. In metro Orlando, I have at least 40 free channels, all local channels are very clear. Whatever I miss live, I can catch on the streaming apps (although I believe this model also has an optional DVR for purchase too...) I connected Amazon Fire TV and Smart TVs through wall coax running up in the attic and to one source (previously had satellite dish so the connections were all in place) and it was relatively easy to set up using the instructions and tech support. I cannot recommend enough. The extra few bucks are worth the durability and good quality of signal over the long run. I've convinced my father to buy this so he can also cut the cord! Take that cable company!!! :-)

Didn't help me
I purchased this to replace a RCA UHF antenna I have on hopes to get some VHF channels in my area. Not only was I not able to get the VHF channels, but my UHF dropped from 39 available to 7.I'm about 70 miles from the transmitters I currently receive in central Washington State. This might work for someone in an urban area far closer to the towers. I already have it packaged up and will be returning it.

Improves signal reception and quantity of channels
The antenna was easy to assemble. There were not that many parts to it. However, since the manufacturer recommended putting the antenna in the attic to get a "height" of 20-25 feet, I opted for that installation challenge (spoiler, it wasn't that difficult). I hadn't been in the attic of my home up to this point, but I had looked around from the garage previously and knew that there would be space to put the antenna up there somewhere. From the moment I decided to proceed, to completing the installation, I required two trips into the attic and spent about 2.5 hours of my time. I did need to drill a hole into the drywall finish of my ceiling, but I found this task to be very easy and didn't require a significant amount of help. I utilized electrical conduit to hide the wire and fed the cable down to my living room TV (see photo). Before going up to the attic, I did log onto the website recommended by the manufacturer to understand where the antenna should be pointed. Once I had the antenna in the living room assembled, I checked to see what the signal reception was like. I thought it did well and figured it might be better in the elevated placement of the attic. So everything worked out as intended and I'm happy with the result. If you are looking for a quality antenna, I encourage you to invest in this one.

Not as easy as you think
We want to cut the cable cord. We only occasionally watch the news and my husband watches football. We bought this and hooked it up. The picture was startlingly clear compared with high def cable.we had it in our second floor laundry room to test out. We decided all was good and wanted to mount it outside the window. Bought the outdoor attachment. It was missing hardware (customer service claims it came with the original set up but not ours). My husband managed to rig it together. The picture starting having pixelation issues. Sometimes minor, sometimes loosing the whole picture. Customer service recommended on ota splitter. Bought that and still having issues. Waiting to hear from service now. Overall I wish we hadn’t bought it.

How well it works depends on where u live and the weather.
At times we get 4 channels crystal clear but the weather does seem to impact. (signal strength?) We have ours indoors as afraid plastic may break down or unit may get damaged with the crazy weather we get. We always get Toronto and Hamilton. Occasionally we can get Barrie and 1 other. We live in Midland. Best part is we don’t pay any monthly fee.
