A very well written and detailed erotic story. Extremely interesting and engaging.
I was very pleasantly surprised when l started reading this. The storyline is engaging, well written and detailed in a way that draws in the reader. The MC is unaware that he is a master level necromancer, but not the megalomaniac or ghoulish typecast we normally think of. Instead he is a decent person with a real affinity for developing relationships, despite being a bad-ass vet, a musician and martial artist. He just has gifts because of his heritage that translate into his being a powerful wizard with power over entropy (energy of life and death). There was quite a lot of erotic description of sex, which l actually read, once again, very well written and extremely detailed so it was easy to visualize what the author was tryingp to convey. Normally l skip pass eroticism because frankly it gets boring after awhile and becomes written porn as many writers fall into the description of sex to the detriment of the storyline. However, l actually read all the eroticism, which was well researched, detailed and contributed to the flow of the narrative.I was also impressed with the number of words that l had to look up the meaning of. It wasn’t odorous, but refreshing. All told, this was a very well done work that was interesting and engaging. I look forward to reading the next installment.

Great story that would be better with a plot
The story was written very well, it was entertaining, enjoyable, and worth reading...but about half way through I thought to myself that the book reminded me of the show keeping up with the K’s as there was lots of scripted drama, but no purpose...which really made me laugh at the end. Problem being; there was no plot. We followed the MC around while he shopped, worked out, just plain worked and played some music. No goals really. He becomes rich and powerful with little effort or motivation. There are no real twists, no major (or even minor) objectives, goals or adversaries. Pretty much just a MC we follow around while life happens, with a sprinkling of monsters and magic. Will likely read the second and hope that a plot makes a guest appearance.

an interesting tale
The author has a very interesting story telling style. It certainly helps keep pace and makes the novel easier to read. Very enjoyable, tons of romance not just eroticism. Would certainly recommend.

A slice of life view of becoming a necromancer
First, skip if you are easily offended or RC, or don't like erotica.Second, this is the introduction to the story so don't expect a lot of action in this intro installment. But it does it's job as intro well enough.Could use a little editing (those tenses can be tricky to handle.)But overall, it was enjoyable, interesting, and well written enough for a harem novel.Recommended.

Odd pacing, odd language
I understand, as the author pointed it out in the introduction, that he will be mixing American and British colloquialisms and idioms. Not sure why.But the weird obsession with obsolete race percentage language (cafe-au-lait, mulatto, quadroon) was so far from the normal American lexicon, that I would have had no idea what he was talking about without a history education.I thought the main character was to much of a Mary-Sue. Expert programmer. Expert in sales and marketing. Expert presenter. Expert in multiple martial arts. Expert lover. Super powerful necromancer without an ounce of training. Poops gold. Ok, the last one is made up.Or is it??

Pleasant Surprise
Every once and awhile I try an unknown author. Picked up his book on a chance it would be somewhat interesting. Boy I was pleasantly surprised by how good the story is. Well rounded characters with background information interspersed with plot. I am looking forward to reading everything else the author has written.

Great first book to a new series
First off, "Zombieverse" is a little misleading, in that the zombies aren't like most current zombies. That being said, I liked this new universe. Jerome does a pretty good job of world building, without a lot of info dumps, and has some interesting and likable characters. There are several things that aren't addressed in the first book that I hope are resolved in the next volume, and the main character is almost TOO perfect, but again I'm hoping this is revisited in the second book.Overall, i enjoyed this book, and I'm looking forward to the sequel, and other books set in this universe.

A good slice of paranormal life
half to one third sex scenes about half very good story telling the rest acceptable good quality , good editing through out and very little annoying fluff ( no excess verbiage ) over all real value for money , if you like abnormal lives told in a good way , contains little gore , some harem , plenty of sex and enough humor to tie it together .

First zombie story I've enjoyed in 20 years
Exceedingly engaging story. I really enjoy the MC, the secondary characters and the dialogue is excellent. The plot is thorough and well laid out. The book is a page turner. Read through in one sitting.

You will regret not reading these
Read it. You will not be disappointed. I read all 3 books in almost as many days. Please do a 4th and carry on the story. I want to hear what happens next! I read the green Lord series first then straight into this series. They were just as great as each other

Story sounds fantastic...Execution is childish
I really like these kind of stories and the premise was really exciting. I wondered what would happen with the MC.However, I started to read it and the whole structure and sentence construction of the book just made it unenjoyable. There was no flow in the book and the sentences were constructed at a level that I would expect from a grade 8 student. JG Jerome just writes like a person is talking and not like he is thinking. One aspect with the sentences in a paragraph: They..., They..., I..., They..., I..., Now I...., I..., Then I..., I.... He should have tried to join the sentences, which makes it more fluid. It is also not necessary to write every time, he said or she said, when a sentence is written in quotes. At the end I started it 3 times and failed 3 times to pass page 22. Maybe if I am really bored and do not have any other book to read will give it one more chance. Now I will take one that has more flow to it.

Pretty okay fluff book
Main character is already perfect at the beginning of the book . His "hardships" are just regular life and his even with his issues is pretty mint
