Good fan, but you can't replace the bulbs
Nice fan. I didn't install it myself, so can't speak to that. I picked this based on reviews, though I didn't like the look in photos. Installed, it looks much nicer than expected.Just note that you can't change the LED bulbs. There might be a kit to replace the whole lighting component, but that's obviously a drawback.

Works Fine, But Noisier Than Advertised
This fan has been highly touted in on-line reviews. It's affordable, but challenging to install. The dimmer function can be tricky. Keep in mind that it does not have replaceable bulbs, which I didn't understand when I bought it. This could limit its life expectancy. Biggest complaint is that the fan is fairly noisy, even on low.

Fan works well and disappears into the ceiling
I bought 6 of these fans for a gut renovation I was doing based on an excellent review from Wirecutter. The fans work well and move a lot of air. The fan enables me to turn the A/C temperature up in my home and still be comfortable.I thought I had had an issue with one of the fans. But it turned out to be my fault. However, before I realized I was the cause, I went to the website to try to diagnose the issue. The avenues to try were well documented and easy to try but none fixed the problem. I then posted a warranty claim on the Westinghouse website. I got a call back from Westinghouse (my email address wasn't working for them, yes, I had a comedy of errors - all my fault) asking me to call them to discuss my issue.I was impressed and delighted I got a callback. This is to let people know the Westinghouse customer service is responsive. I didn't have to test how they handled an issue that was because of a product issue. but it was nice to get a response.

quiet and cool
There was a bit of installation needed for this fan, took us about 4 hours. Our ceiling needed an extension, which we got from menards and a fan worthy receptacle replaced. The blades also needed balanced with 6 cents worth of pennies, but once we got it going I love it. I keep it on medium to sleep. I dont use the light very often but it is bright even with it dimmed all the way down. I did get the westing house remote sold separately which controls the light/dims the light and fan speed.

NOT RECOMMENDED, FLUSH MOUNT IMPOSSIBLE!!!
Zero stars. Works fine if using the pole mount, tried to do flush mount and the motor fell off the ceiling. The screws strip very easily. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!! Instructions of poor quality.

Best ceiling fan we have ever had.
We have 4 ceiling fans in the house. This is by far the quietest and puts out the most air movement of any of them. And this one was quite a bit less that the others cost 15 years ago. Install of this model was a bit more difficult due to the way the blades attach to the motor. There is a hole in the lower shroud, just above the light fixture and you can only get the screws in by positioning it above that hole. So a bit more of a juggling act for one person installing it.

A pain to install, but once installed it's good
This fan hit all the marks for what I wanted. First the stuff I do like - reversible blades (mine are solid white on one side that match the rest of the fan, driftwood/whitewashed wood on the other - I went with the wood), sturdy build, runs quiet, option to mount flush or on extension tube, option to wire to a switch or use pull chains, extra parts included (unfortunately not the ones you'll likely need), runs pretty true (ie, doesn't wobble or shake), clear instruction manual in multiple languages, etc.Unfortunately I didn't realize that it would be so picky and labor-intensive to install. Installing the ceiling mount and the motor was fine - very typical for fans these days. But the blades are each two pieces, with 5 bolts each, and 2 of the bolts go in while the fan is hanging from the ceiling. So you have to hold a bolt on the tip of your screwdriver while you fish the blade into place and then try to fish the bolt through where the light attaches, through the hole in the blade and then into the motor. It's really annoying - plan on dropping about half the bolts and plan on losing at least a couple of the lock washers (the ONLY thing they don't give you extra of, of course). Also the blades have two pieces that must be bolt together. Wouldn't be a huge issue except there are these fiber washers that go on and they are so tight, you have to screw them on. But of course - it's a washer, made of fiber at that, so there's no way to hold it except with your finger. But you have to get it threaded roughly halfway on before you can stick the other washer on and then thread the nut on. God forbid you get the bracket you're trying to attach upside down and don't realize it until the fiber washers are all on and then you have to unscrew them because they are still too tight to just pull off. ANNOYING. Nobody else attaches blades this way, I swear. Everyone else has grommets or snap in or snap on blades which cuts install time easily in half, and leaves one feeling much more satisfied when done.If they made that one improvement this fan would be hard to beat. As it is, I'd shop for a different fan. Ones can be found, especially named for that Long Island Bay (wink wink) famous for ritzy homes owned by famous people, that are identical in price, offer more features (remote, adjustable color warmth on the light, nicer looking) and are much easier to install.

Does everything right - with a weird install tho
I've now bought and installed 6 of these fans. The oldest is 8 years old and still working like it's new. These fans are quiet and reliable, and you do not notice them which is all you need from a fan. Good value too. The installation is a bit weird and sees you attaching fan blades while on the ladder but this is a good value, great quality, fan that works in most rooms.
