Superior Product
Review for Youth & Earth Superba™ Krill Oil 500mg (60 Softgels) Source of Omega 3s EPA, DHA and AstaxanthinI often take Omega 3 oil because of the need for bodily functions and a mineral which can't typically be synthesised within the body. This is an oil which is produced from wild sources (namely krill) and not from farmed sources as some omega 3 oils are. The price of this is not insignificant however you are getting a quality and more importantly the source is a natural one, which is reflected in the cleaner taste. This is soft capsule form which mostly removes the taste associated with cod liver for instance. The capsules have no animal products in the ingredients other than fish so if you are happy taking fish products then you are good to go. Overall more expensive than related Omega 3 supplements however you get a superior product for the price, which comes in a glass bottle.

An effective ingredient
Each capsule contains 500mg of krill oil, costing 25p/capsule and with a 2 capsule per day recommended dosage.I will take 2-3 capsules per day which works out to a minimum of £0.50/day, which is a little on the pricey side when compared to fish oil but actually cheaper than some other krill oil supplements I've taken in the past. The capsules have no real aftertaste and give no fishy burps, and seem good quality with a deep red colour.Clinical trials on krill oil are generally in the range of 1-3g, so this supplement provides enough in 2 capsules to meet clinically relevant dosages. This seems like a very high quality supplement, and while it's not the most expensive krill oil supplement out there, it's also not the cheapest. While krill oil has a higher bioavailability than fish oil, the omega-3 content in this is very small, and it would require a high dosage to meet the same omega-3 content. There are trials on krill oil showing improvements in cholesterol, triglycerides, arthritis and more from a dosage that you can get with this supplement, so it's something that I will definitely look into for long term supplementation.

Slightly Expensive Compared to Competitors
Omega-3 fatty acids supplements are widely acknowledged as providing many health benefits, including:• lower triglycerides (a fat that enters your blood after a meal)• improved circulation (blood flow around the body)• preventing blood clots• improved sleeping &• keeping your skin hydrated.Krill oil and cod liver oil are both sources of omega-3 fatty acids. However, they differ in some aspects, such as their origin, composition and environmental impact. Krill oil comes from tiny crustaceans living in Antarctic waters, whereas cod liver oil comes, not surprisingly, from livers of cod fish. Krill oil contains more phospholipids and astaxanthin than cod liver oil, which may enhance its absorption and antioxidant properties, but cod liver oil contains more vitamins A & D, which are reputed to support bone & eye health. Both oils may have drawbacks, including potential contamination, allergic reactions, and overfishing. It is important to consult a doctor before taking any supplement, & to choose a reputable brand that meets recognised quality standards. Youth and Earth claim in their adverting images on Amazon that this product is HACCP certified & independently lab tested. But we are given no information on whether the lab used met ISO or other certification standards.Regrettably, such information as is on the label for the Youth & Earth Superba™ Krill Oil Capsules is in very small print. No separate information leaflet is provided. In common with many other products currently for sale, it is left to the customer to glean information from the Amazon listing bullet points & included pictures, to inform themselves about the product & how to use it.I found the Youth & Earth Superba™ Krill Oil Capsules easy to swallow & without noticeable aftertaste. Admittedly, this is my first bottle of Superba™ Krill Oil Capsules, now almost finished, but I have yet to notice any particular effect upon my well-being. This brand is relatively expensive compared to most other brands but I have not yet detected any clear evidence of its superiority.
