You can easily check batteries and know the exact voltage, it's compact and needs no batteries to power it.

Good little device to have if you don't want to keep on pulling out your multi-meter.Found mine reads a little low compared to couple high end multi-meters consistently ~0.06V, but for what I need with the cost of this product serves its purpose. Low cost, and handy for easy quick voltage check mostly for NiMH batteries I'm cycling out of the kids toys.Use good multimeter for better accuracy, but for quick handy checks to leave in battery box and easy for wife and kids to use, this is nice.Note: this device is very very light, like a hollow piece of plastic, deceiving when I first picked it up.

It's simple, but it does what it's supposed to do. No problems testing any of my batteries. Nice to have. Let me test a drawer full of old batteries, so I could stop buying new ones.

As other reviewers have said, this metre is awkward to use. It does require two hands, and you have to look closely to make sure the battery is positioned exactly correctly on the metal bars. I felt clumsy and dropped batteries several times trying to position them in this metre. As far as I can tell, it does read the batteries. I think it must be pretty accurate. It showed my fresher batteries as having a lot more charge than some of the older ones. Four of my batteries were under 1.0, and the metre indicates these should be replaced.I suppose for the price point this is okay. I am not overly impressed with it because of how awkward it is to use and thus how clumsy I am trying to read the batteries. If you need one of these, this one is probably as good as any other ones as they all seem to be made in about the same shape and size, and they are all made in China, but what is not made in China these days?I awarded an overall rating of three stars which I think is fair if not a bit generous.ETA: I have now been using this unit for roughly 4 years. It never gets any easier to use, and I really dislike it. I would not recommend it.

I got tired of wondering if my remote was bad or if the batteries were bad. I needed to eliminate one of the variables so I could determine what needed to be fixed or replaced. I chose the D-FantiX Digital Battery Tester because it gives me a digital read-out of the actual measured voltage. What I didn't want was Green, yellow and red or Good/Bad. Those are subjective. We do not know what values the manufacturer is using to come up with Good/Bad values. By giving me the actual voltage value, I can determine for myself if 1.37 volts is good enough for my AA battery requirements. I would like to have seen the red shoe be spring loaded so I don't have to hold this with both hands but that is a small complaint. While this is not a high quality made instrument, I do not need it to be. It does the job just wonderfully!

I ordered this because it was inexpensive and would serve my purpose. It is a bit hard to get the battery lined up and to keep it where it needs to be but I manage. It also is very accurate.

It's good to know that the batteries I use has a full charge. Works with ease.
