Hoggs of FifeWoodsman Waxed Jacket Olive Coats & Jackets (57988) Men's

I owned a waxed jacket from a well known manufacturer for many years until it wore out. The replacement cost is currently eye watering, so I investigated other options. This Hoggs jacket seemed too good to be true at this price. I assumed it was made abroad, but is says made in England which is nice to see. The material feels similar weight to my old jacket, and it has good sized pockets although the internal pocket would be nicer with a zip.I'm six foot and bought the XL, it has plenty of room for a fleece underneath and the sleeves are a good length. As expected it is a basic design, but is well made and the warm cuffs were a nice surprise. As with all wax jackets it isn't breathable, but I am hoping it will give many years of service and remain waterproof if maintained properly. I am pleased I took a chance and bought it.Edit: First, I have worn this jacket in a torrential rain and it was completely waterproof.Second, I have modified the inside pocket by sewing in a Prym Security Pocket 20 x 14 cm Black + Zip see photo

Good quality coat at a great price, but, ordered large which is normally my size, but it is more like extra large, so had to send back and order medium.

It is a good coat fits well,been out in rain a few times kept me nice and dry

If you buy outside UK. And the product is broken and is defective. You need to pay shipping and duties and taxes around 45£.Seller don’t give any solution and Amazon no solution too.Very bad.

The jacket is well made & not padded except the jackets arms which are lined?They make your arms sweat very easily whilst walking.Otherwise a good jacket that will get worn a lot.Hence 3* for comfort/4* Overall rating & 5 for Value for money.Feedback would be welcome from Sellor & Hoggs of Fife

I was looking for something to replace my 33 year old Barbour jacket, when I found the Hoggs Woodsman jacket. Although it's not a Barbour, this is reflected in the price.With some of these jackets, size can be a bit hit and miss, however, when it says 45" - 47" that's what you get. If you think you'll squeeze into a smaller fit, these jackets are not made oversize, so if you want a bigger one...........order a bigger one.I found this jacket to be comfortable to wear, with the elasticated cuffs a useful feature, so even if you find the sleeves a little too long, these will hold them in place nicely.All in all, a very nice waxed jacket. It's not the cheapest, but it certainly is not the most expensive!I have been spoilt with a Barbour, but, this is a very good compromise, considering the excellent price.

Really impressed. Speedy delivery. Coat is good quality, warm and fits well. Looks and feels like it should have cost much more. Detachable hood, front zip and buttons and buttoned pockets all good quality. Would buy again!

wanted to fit 40inch chest with room for a fleece,chose Medium, fits just right.

Polyvalence dans un style a part. Non ce n'est pas la veste technique que vous trouvez partout, non, celle-ci a de la personnalité. Le capuchon qui est compris sans etre mentionné, est un plus, c'est quand meme une veste de pluie :)

The jacket is fantastic. Looks and feels just like a Barbour jacket but it costs much less. Love it. Hope to review this as time goes on to test durability

Sehr gutes Verhältnis von Preis-Leistung. Verarbeitung gut, Schnitt nicht so bauchig wie bei Marke mit dem B. Armlänge auch genau richtig. Bin eher der groß&schlank Typ. Perfekte Jacke für den Spaziergang und die Gartenarbeit oder um bei Regen schnell mal raus zu gehen. Da kein Plastik verabeitet auch keine Probleme mit Microplastik etc. Schätze die Jacke werde ich "ewig" haben 👍

I purchased the waxed waistcoat in early January from a store in Edinburgh while on vacation. The jacket is a nice addition and a good purchase. Looks good even not in the rain.

didn't Like the Fit. completely oversized and pockets aswell
