I am not a woodcarver who uses chisels, gouges, etc as Mrs. Hajny is, but a whittler, using only a pocketknife, since 1994. But i still use carving patterns and just whittle them instead.Desiree Hajny is a name i've revered since seeing her beautiful works of art in print in woodcarving books and magazines just after starting whittling.Her nature carvings are sooooo realistic! I'm thrilled to have this amazing book by her, both in print form, and in kindle form, and look forward to whittling pieces from it. Love it. 🙃

Easy to follow instructions and suggestions. Photographic illustrations are superb. Probably the best carving book I've seen and I have at least 40 others.

I have been carving for over 15 years professionally and never seen a book like this one which has so many templates (four directions of full body plus top view of head). These are the main key to create good carvings for all carvers.Author is concisely going though how to cut, texture, tools and material.The book is recommended to some what experienced carvers but I believe very beginners can learn a lot from it since these adorable animals and good templates sure give them good motivation to get going.

Très bon livre sur les animaux à graver, mais ce n'est pas un livre pour débutant. Faire la fourrure d'un animal demande de l'expérience et pas mal de documentation. Mais c'est un joli livre qui peut satisfaire les plus exigeants
