Absolutely Fantastic

I received the first issue of my subscription today. Love it! I grew up flying tail staggers in the 50s. We had a couple of Bonanzas, J-3s, Aeroncas, Cessna, in addition to my family's Interstate Cadet and Luscomb all packed together in a left over B-29 hanger. By-13s and a T-6 were banished to the ramp, and a Cessna twin plus others were in a second B-29 hanger. Oops, I almost forgot to mention a couple of Ercoups. Wonderful memories, together with others that were just tragedies. Anyway, Plane and Pilot's Pages are filled with spurs to fond memories, plus ads and articles that show how much has changed through the 70 year history of the Bonanzas. The V tails are gone, and the Moonies are beautiful. And ads for modern instrumentation are fascinating, especially when cast in ads showing Cessna 195s. Wow things have changed, but bring back the memories!

Better than not having anything to read.

No problem receiving my subscription, so here's my review of this magazine...There are magazines I love to hate because although I feel like I'm not getting anything close to a "great" product from the writers, editors, photographers and publishers, I wouldn't want them to go out of print altogether. Plane and Pilot is one of those.Just like Flying, aside from the airplane specific test flights, it's boringly redundant to the point where most articles will start with something along the lines of "You've read about this many times before..." and indeed you have. Most of the articles and "equipment" reviews are not critical enough to be trusted over your own judgement because almost everyone who they write about is an advertisers and you don't bite the hand that feeds.Where Plane & Pilot does suffer is from pedestrian photography. Some airplanes are works of art, this magazines photo staff seems to make the photo look like it was shot with a iPhone and color corrected by someone who needs "light instruction".

Magazines good Subscription service stinks

Magazines good Subscription service stinks. It didnt say when you subacribe and Pay it starts the Next Year ! And later when I did find out it did, it said it was to start in January. But nothing showed until late Febuary and that was the MARCH issue.Ill go back to buying off the rack when I see an issue that interest me.

Subscription

This is an excellent publication that transports the reader in its writings, informs thorougly in its reports and shares its knowledge in its articles. It is up to date in the field of aviation and shares with the enthusiast an amalgam of news, reports, articles and photographs. I am enjoying myself even though I am no longer able to fly.

Great Magazine

I read Flying too -- but Plane and Pilot seems better aimed at the non-multimillionaire pilot owner. If you have enough money to fly a $20 million jet, then you will probably like Flying better. Of course the best monthly column in the entire world of flying is written by Martha Lunkin in Flying Magazine, and that is the best reason to subscribe to that magazine as well.

Great the first year, meah the second.

It's a good read but I'd like more diversity. I had this subscription a couple years ago and it's fairly similar. There's lots to discuss, bring the new articles!
