Love this saw
I won't repeat all the positive things stated in prior reviews, instead I suggest you read the review by New England Yankee, he goes into a lot of detail and sums it up pretty well. I use the saw in my part time custom furniture shop, so it gets a lot of use but not as much as a full time shop. For me it came down to Powermatic or Jet (both owned by the same parent company). After comparing the two saws I could not justify paying an additional 25% - 30% more for the small advantages of Powermmatic. Use good blades and you won't be disappointed. Saw runs smooth and cuts accurately. Adjustments are easy to make. As others have stated it takes about 3 hours to assemble. Saw was packed well and everything was aligned properly as it was shipped. I love the fence, very accurate (its adjustable if alignment is necessary). As with all power equipment good maintenance is required, follow as stated in the manual. There are only two small negatives I can think of; 1)the fence is slightly different than the manual (probably a newer model and manual has not caught up) and one step is not necessary when initially setting up the fence and back rail. Once I realized its just an improved fence assembly proceeded with no issue. 2) the other small item is the wiring block where the electrical cord wires to the saw, one of the screw terminals in the block was stripped. No problem just moved to an unused terminal on the block.Overall I am very happy with this saw, only wish I would have purchased it sooner, its made working easier.

Do it yourself and save.
Reasonable quality cabinet saw. One of the reasons it is moderately priced is that there is a lot of assembly required. It took me about eight hours and I'm pretty adept at such tasks. It was necessary to place some shims under the edge of one of the two cast iron table extensions to level it to the main center section. The other side leveled without shims. Although I would recommend having a helper when assembling I was able to do it myself by using various mechanical assists, e.g. a scissors jack to help lift and hold the extension table in just the right place while drilling the mounting holes. I also purchased the optional base with castors (and base extension to support the extension table legs) and used an engine hoist to lift the entire saw up into the air to be able to insert the base under the saw and lower it into the base frame. I do like the design of the blade guard and riving knife assembly. I usually remove such features since they seem to just get in the way of work but this saw has done it in a way that protects without obstruction. You will have to purchase a power cord and plug to fit the style of 220 VAC outlet you are using (or direct wire to a junction box without a plug). Since I have a mobile base I'm using a Twist-Loc plug that inserts into a 220 VAC/20 A outlet that I installed in my shop ceiling to keep from having the cord on the floor as a trip hazard. That way I can disconnect the saw and roll it out of the way for working on projects that need space but not a cabinet saw. The only hassle I had was that a warehouseman at the vendor (Acme Tools) shipped fence guide rails for another brand of saw entirely that did not fit the Jet. It took several weeks to receive the correct parts and of course I had to schlep the long and heavy box with the incorrect rails back to FedEx for return.

Best saw ever
I've been a woodworker for 38 years. This Jet table saw is the best to date that I have worked with. I purchased the saw and was given a date to receive and it came a week early! The setup was as described, it took about two hours with a friend helping me which I highly recommend due to the weight of the saw. The saw itself and the fence are a thing of beauty. The design with the enclosed blade housing with a direct vacuum hose attachment eliminates any saw dust from the cabinet which translates into a much easier task keeping the shop clean not to mention the health benefits for not having most of the saw dust in the air. We set the saw up per the instruction book. The saw needed only one minor adjustment being the moving of the witness mark over the measure tape by 1/16 of an inch. The table and the fence came perfectly aligned to the saw blade. Can't say enough good things about this saw. If your considering it for purchase, stop thinking and buy it now.

As expected
We moved, so I sold my well used and much loved blue JET I bought in 1995 and bought this one. As a JET fan, I got what I expected with this new one. Solid, not many changes from my old saw other than the riving knife and easily removed pawls and blade guard. Love this saw!! Just finished making a new top for my 25-year old bench out of 8/4 maple and it didn’t miss a beat. Set-up was straight-forward and the outfeed table was much sturdier than the last saw. I wasn’t blown away with it and I think the dust collection could be better but it was what I expected from JET. Solid, well built, plenty of power.

BEST TABLE SAW I'VE EVER OWNED OR USED!
I have owned four different tablesaws in my 50 working years. While some of them were quite good, the quality and features of this saw exceed all my expectations! So far, everything about the saw, all the features and the ease of use are far better than I experienced with my other saws. My last saw was a much more expensive saw and a quite quality saw that I owned for over twenty years, but this saw from the get go makes me forget my former, more expensive saw. I can't believe that for the money that I get a saw that is so much more convenient and accurate to use. Also, I never got my former saw to reduce sawdust with a vacuum system as I would have liked. This saw is quite superior in this regard. I no longer have to use a breath mask when I use this saw!
