Glad to find these online
Lobo brand Kao Soi has been a family favourite for decades and I’ve introduced several friends to these simple but tasty meals. It’s very hard to find these packs in New Zealand, so I’m very happy to have found some online.

Delicioius and authentic!
This is the same product that I bought in Thailand on travel and it is so tasty! It's tricky to put together all the ingredients needed to make Kao Soi so this is a lifesaver. If you'd never tried this tasty dish you should. Seller was a great communicator and I appreciated that the packaging was very eco-friendly.

Authentic Thai
My family has lived in northern Thailand for many years. One of my favorite northern dishes is Kao Soi soup. Here in the US it’s much more difficult to get, so was happy to receive the fix for my Thai cravings.

It's ok, but if you know what Khao soi should taste like, this isn't close.
I'm lazy to make Khao Soi from scratch because it takes me almost all day so I tried this. It's tastes ok but nothing like authentic khao soi so I'll stick to making it from scratchCompared to making it yourself this is definitely much easier but it's more red than yellow and adding water to hydrate the spices isn't the same as cooking them. It's pretty salty and I can't put my finger on it, but the mix of spices isn't quite right.I've attached a few pics, the meat I already pulled off of the bone shows the sauce for this one, dark red. The glass bowl is this with noodles and condiments(was lazy for fried noodles) I added a little extra water because it was too thick. The beautiful yellow with just some red oil is making it from scratch. Also I included a pic of just how many spices go into making khao soi fresh. It is a pain, but if you want the taste, it seems there's no other way.I lived in Northern Thailand, Nan, for a large part of my life. I'm not expert, but I've never tasted this taste at home.
