Its not a chew toy!!
The media could not be loaded. Please don't mistake this toy as a chew toy! Its purpose is for your dog to roll it around and have the kibble fall out. Don't let your dog play with this unattended. It is pretty sturdy but there is no doubt in my mind that a larger dog could easily break it and hurt itself. With that being said....I love it, and so does my Chow mix. He played with it for about an hour the first time I gave it to him. I had no problem with kibble falling out to easy and his kibble is not very large. As a matter of fact I had to cut some of the stoppers off inside the openings. He is a bit on the lazy side, but I love it cause he is a greedy thing and can empty a kong within a few minutes. So this keeps him moving somewhat for a longer period of time and keeps him busy. He can also pick it up and carry it around the room.I also got one for my 9 mth old Husky but she still likes to chew on it, so I am still teaching her how to play with it the right way and I am sure that she will also enjoy it in no time. She is a picky eater and I am hoping that she will enjoy her meals more if they fall out of this egg.I got the large and I was surprised how big they were! They definitely hold a lot of kibble. The more kibble is inside the easier it will fall out. After a while when there is only a small amount of kibble left it seems to be more challenging to get the kibble to fall out. So if you want to make it harder on your dog just put a smaller amount of kibble in it.Attached is a video of my 7 year old Chow mix. He is not big on toys but he really enjoys this as he is very food motivated. I can only recommend it, but like I said before, it's not a chew toy and you may have to take a little bit of time out of your busy schedule to teach your dog how to play with it the correct way. ;-)I could see a more active dog having a lot of fun with this thing. :-)

Fun way to feed kibble!
My dog usually scarfs her food down so fast she practically chokes. I decided to try a kibble toy to slow her down. I decided on this one over the tug-a-jug because my dog is crazy and throws things around when she gets excited. I thought the tug-a-jug would probably end up getting thrown into the TV or something. This works really well to slow my dog down when eating. Now she only gets a few pieces at a time, which is great, and dinner is now a fun game for her. It's really cute to watch her run around the house, tail wagging, chasing this egg and the kibble trail it leaves behind. This kibble toy holds a lot of dog food. There is plenty of room for my dogs normal serving, which is probably about 2 cups. The rubber prongs at the openings are easy to trim. I cut very small pieces off at first (less than 1/4" at a time) to make sure I didn't over do it. Then I filled it with food and let my dog play with it. I feed my dog Purina Beneful, just for a size reference. At first only about one piece would come out at a time. Now, after a few trimmings, I have it so that about 4 or 5 pieces of kibble fall out at a time. This seems to be the magic number to keep my dog's interest. It's holding up well to rolling around the house and banging into stuff, but it would definitely not hold up to being chewed on. My dog doesn't try to chew on it now that a decent amount of kibble comes out, but she did when only 1 or 2 pieces were falling out at a time. After she gets down to about 1/4 cup of kibble she has trouble making it fall out, so I dump it into her bowl. It makes quite a bit of noise when rolled around on hard floors, but it doesn't really bother me. I highly recommend!

Finally...some peace!
Let me start by saying I work from home. Now to my dog...if I am home, that means that I am there to play with him and entertain him and walk him and love him. My boss, on the other hand, would prefer that I spend 8 hours a day working on deliverables for our clients. Until my dog and my boss can come to an agreement, I have to do what my boss wants since in the end, that is what keeps the kibble coming.I have quite a few doggy-puzzles in this house so that I can work in peace. The Hide-a-Squirrel was great but eventually was destroyed. Bones are great as long as you can supervise. Kongs are probably the greatest invention for dogs on the face of the planet. I read about the Squirrel Buddy and Kibble Nibble when I was getting ready to buy a Tug-A-Jug. I tend to give one puzzle at a time so the dog doesn't get bored. I haven't tried the other products yet, but for the Kibble Nibble:1) My dog is on large breed Iams puppy. His kibble is average sized, not too large. The kibble came out at an acceptable, easy pace but to make it last longer and keep him occupied I chopped up some carrots and put those in as well. The larger carrots help slow down the flow of kibble. At the end, I just dump the carrots into his bowl and then wash the toy.2) It holds up well to his pawing it around and even dropping it off of the sofa. However, he has tried to chew on it to get the treats out and this definitely was not meant to be a chew toy (teeth marks appeared quite quickly!). When he starts gnawing on it, I take it away from him since usually that's when there's nothing left. I think he could make quick work of destroying it if left alone.3) The way you adjust the flow of kibble according to the box is to cut off the little prongs on the inside of the ball that hold the kibble in (it's the same with the squirrel buddy) The only problem is that once you do that, you can't put the prongs back!4) It is pricier than some of the other toys.Basically, it costs a little more and it doesn't seem able to stand up to chewing like a Kong. But the way that it moves and rattles has been very different and fun for the dog. I would definitely say this is worth keeping in the house if you need to keep your pup occupied when you are doing something, but I wouldn't recommend leaving him unattended for the day with this since an aggressive chewer could probably destroy it pretty quickly. For that, I'm sticking with a frozen Kong or the squirrel dude!Oh and one other thing--I bought all the large sizes of these toys for my dog, and they are all the same color! (I guess they use color to differentiate between sizes). That's okay but I do wish they were different colors. We have way too many purple toys in this house.Update 6/2013: Some of the plastic bumpers have worn off, but the toy has still held up okay!

My dog loves this!
Perfect for entertaining my dog I just put some kibble and small treats in the ball when I'm leaving the house. It is loud when my dog is rolling it so might not be best choice for apartment/condo, unless your floors are quite soundproof. My dog loves it though, and it's great because dog has to keep rolling the ball to retrieve treats. Treats do have to be small, like kibble.

Funciona
Hace exactamente lo que dice. Le mostré un par de veces cómo funciona a mi perro y con eso fue suficiente. Mi perro se aburre rápido de los juguetes pero me gusta dejarle croquetas por si tiene más hambre sepa dónde encontrarlas.

Keeps opening
Would be OK if it stayed shut but opens during normal use with no way to secure shut.

Doggy Dinner
These are great feeders for large dogs. Keeps them amused and fed, for a while, although our lab can get it apart eventually no matter how tightly it is screwed on. Also good for their digestion, as, a typical lab, he otherwise gulps his food. Also holds the portion size for a full meal of kibble. Came very quickly. Good service.
