Path of Souls: The Native American Death Journey: Cygnus, Orion, the Milky Way, Giant Skeletons in Mounds, & the Smithsonian

I appreciate his summarization of the meanings of the symbols and the collaboration with Collins on the Cygnus material. It amazed me how densely populated N America was, and how advanced these cities were, and it enlarged my understanding of why empires fail when people are held in total control through fear-mongering elites. I was particularly interested in the symbols themselves, and how they relate to the stars. This book is an important piece of the puzzle of who we are and where did we come from, but it is a smaller piece than I had hoped for.

I have some special interests in this area of symbolism and cosmology. I found this fascinating and reconfirming of some of my views. I think the tie in with related ideas from around the world do not go back 18,000 years. It's a lot more recent than that, but no matter. The connection with cosmological understanding is a fascinating thing. I'm also interested in the references to "giants" and how that ties in with quite a number of scriptural references to people of large stature, large and might men, etc. Well worth the read for me.

Needs some editing as some repeated phasing. Would West Virginia site be similar flora or fauna to other areas discussed in Asia? Lots of ideas that need to be followed up. Good use of photos and diagrams.

Fascinating and scholarly look at native American beliefs regarding the journey from life to death. Author draws stunning parallels to other ancient cultural beliefs from Egypt and elsewhere. While not quite ancient aliens, it is certainly grist for that mill and very well written and thought provoking. The research is sound and some of it recently unearthed. Is it a shared mythology passed through time, or the product of education from beyond? Lots to ponder.

Having grown up in an area where there were mounds it is interesting to see the ideas that were tied to their construction and use.

GREAT BOOK.

This was a fascinating review of the disastrous history of early 1500's in the US - sometimes a bit hard to take - and what is and is not known about the 'mysterious' mound builders. Little then pieces together the meaning of the symbology found among the various Indian tribes, backed up by the conclusions of many North American archaeologists. He also takes up the subject of the 'giants' and the supposed less than stellar behavior of the Smithsonian, all in a very balanced fashion. The author is careful to back up his conclusions, or simply state the questions to which he has no answers. Engagingly written.

Beautifully written and factual. It makes you delve within yourself to feel the truths waiting to be realized.

I found this a very good introduction to the North American Mound culture, giant skeletons and the Native American Death Journey. Greg Little is a meticulous researcher who's willing to admit that many of the reports of giant skeletons were probably hoaxes, so when he says something is genuine I feel I can trust him. Andrew Collins has contributed a Foreword and two Afterwords. I'm more familiar with Collins' work, especially regarding the constellation Cygnus and the role it plays in the Path of Souls, but there's new material here concerning the Denisovans, which is fascinating. I understand that these two authors have since written a book about the Denisovans, and I'll be looking out for that when it's published.
