I really like this style of clip due for nothing for fishing line to hang up on like other designs. These are super strong, and a bugger to open the small end, if not impossible for the average joe. But a friend of mine found a way that works "most" of the time without tools, especially the smaller size. I'll try to explain how. Take and open the big end just enough to not get in the way of the small clip that wraps around the main body. Now hold the clip in one hand and place the eye of a barrel swivel that you want to install on the small end that closes the snap/see pic. Hold on clip tight with your left hand and pull the barrel swivel with somewhat downward pressure as you pull. The downward pressure pushes the main body and allows more room for the eye of the barrel swivel to work around the hook. This is easier to show someone than it is to explain but hopefully it will work for you. After having done several dozen it gets easier. Thanks

They seem to be good quality. I opened and closed a few to see if the wire was going to fatigue and break like some I have. The ones I tested held up. I feel like they're safe enough to use, I'll update if anything changes or I find that they do start breaking. My advise is to pull 5 or so out and work them like you would when changing setups before trusting them. I should qualify this by saying that I did not try to break them. Maybe I will to see just how much abuse they can take, but that's not really how I'll use them and I think they'll work just fine for their intended use.

The whole point of this product should be that it is easy to open in order to attach it to a swivel, hook or lure. I purchased #2 clips. While the larger gate is somewhat easier to open , the smaller gate is IMPOSSIBLE to open without using pliers. ANY attempt at opening the smaller gate bends the clip so out of form that it becomes unusable.

This was perfect! I did not use it for fishing but I needed to replace some similar parts on my 60 yr old loom and these worked great as hooks!

Very well built but cant open the small end by hand. Needle nosed pliers needed and even those make it tough. I didn't see a gauge of wire indicated so i took the chance. I've got them working but it would help to warn or inform about the strong wire they're made of.

Very reliable for saltwater fishing because of the stainless steel.

Snaps are hard to open tackle hard to put on. Liked the old style better. Why do the have to change things that work

I have been fishing for 30 years. These are absolutely the best, strongest, and most dependable swivel snap I have seen. I purchased both available sizes. My pics represent the largest size. I catch more fish when I have confidence in my fishing gear/tackle.
