I bought this cup in 2020 wanting to have something to hold my coffee without that nasty metallic taste from the other cups. The ceramic coating really makes this a no brainer, but I can say as someone who has used this cup almost every day since I got it, this WILL BE the BEST container you will ever buy for coffee. It holds heat for a ridiculously long time. I mean I can make coffee at night, place it in this and still have steam rising from it in the morning, as long as you tighten the top well. The new move cups with the alternate tops I cannot vouch for, but the wide is great for V60 or other pour-over equipment, keeping coffee hot and fresh to go. Even for cold coffee. I've forgotten I had cold brew in here once for almost the whole day and when I opened it, still had ice in it. Best $35 I've ever spent on a cup, and I've bought several over the years. No major scratches even though I dropped it. One ding on the bottom from said drop, but no compromise to structure or ability to do what it's told.My one gripe - It's not even that big of a deal, but due to the wide size of this cup, it's complicated to get it fit in a regular cup holder, which funny enough, they say on the website, but I just squeeze it in there. A tight fit but if it bothers you, get the Carter Move which is slimmer, but I can't vouch for that one as for as durability.

Became a huge fan of Fellow a few months ago when I purchased a Corvo EKG that I now use every morning for brewing tea. Even got my whole family hooked on using it for anything they need hot water for over using our stove kettle we've had for years. Just last week I dropped and cracked my favorite mug and since I've had a stainless steel tumbler from Yeti for a few years that I never have to worry about breaking I decided to look at getting a stainless steel mug as my everyday mug. I'd never used my Yeti tumbler for hot drinks before and I'd heard that regular stainless steel mugs and tumblers have a higher chance with hot drinks of making them taste metallic. I saw a few companies made tumblers with ceramic coatings and decided that was what I needed. Low and behold I found that Fellow had just released the Carter which was exactly what I was looking for. Even though I most likely won't be taking my morning tea with me it is nice having a mug with a leak proof lid if I did ever want to take something hot with me. And even though I haven't tested the lid yet I can tell this lid is actually leak proof compared to the sip lids most tumblers come with which were only designed to be leak resistant. So far I'm absolutely loving my Carter, only thing I'd love to personally see Fellow add to the Carter's in the future are some attachable handles just cause I've used handled mugs for years though I've got no issue with the Carter as is since it's outer material has plenty of grip. And lastly, you guys should add that it's dishwasher safe to it's webpages just cause that was a feature I was looking for (luckily one of the answered questions on Amazon confirmed it was dishwasher safe) and I know lots of people would be searching for that specifically too.

The mug is awesome but the funky smell is real. The gasket on the lid went bad almost instantly when I set it on top of my mug with coffee inside (didn’t even tighten it down). I read all the reviews and was up in the air before buying the Carter so I was aware of the issue. If you think yours will be an acceptation to the smell, it probably won’t.With that being said, I reached out to Fellow and within a few hours they had sent me a new gasket. I’ll update this review once I try the new one out.I would still recommend the Carter, especially if you have an Aeropress and want to brew directly into a mug. Just be aware that there is a high probability you’ll have to spend a few more bucks on a new gasket.
