Tower T10039BP Fast Boil Kettle with Automatic Shut-Off, Concealed Heating Element, Boil Dry Protection, Stainless Steel Housing, 3000 W, 1.7 Litre, Blush Pink Glitz Sparkle

If like me you are after a quality branded kettle which does not have plastic in the internal water compartment then I am sure this kettle would appear to be the ideal one. It has a Stainless Steel internal heating element which is GOOD. It has a quality Schott glass body which is GOOD. BUT the spout filter which every kettle of boiled water will pass through is made of basic plastic.I have had many glass kettles over the last few years including ones made by Tower and they have always has metal mesh filters. So for this kettle someone at Tower must have thought that in order to save a penny or two per kettle they could substitute metal for plastic.The only reason I realised the spout filter was plastic was because it had fallen out of its clips in delivery and was loose inside the kettle.My real concern is that most plastics in the last few years have been made to be biodegradable and biodegradable plastic does not react well to extreme changes in temperature, for example freezing or heating. So every kettle full of boiling water used is being filtered through plastic, what is the point when you have made a glass and stainless steel kettle to minimise contact with plastic..So what would appear to have been an excellently designed and styled kettle has been completely let down.This kettle will unfortunately have to be returned and I will have to hope that other manufactures have not gone down this same penny pinching route of abandoning the stainless steel spout filters.Not recommended if you want to limit your exposure to plastic in food and drink preparation products.

The most beautiful kettle I have ever owned.Packaged ok. The box did arrive slightly damaged but the product was not effected.Presented in this stunningly designed black box with the kettle on and lots of sparkle. The kettle is wrapped up really well within.This kettle is one amongst a beautiful kitchen set from Tower. I already own the same kettle in black and silver but I could not resist this sparkling pink set.The pink is absolutely gorgeous, it sparkles and shines in the light, it goes ever so beautifully with the light grey. The wire and plug is white, which im glad they did this instead of black as it looks so much better.When you use the kettle, the inside lights up pink. This looks amazing!Boil the kettle 6-7 times before first use to give it a good clean.The silver piece on the top of the kettle does get a little limescale over several months of use, so I recommend cleaning with a limescale remover once every couple of months, I did this with my last one and it kept better than the one before.I would recommend this. It did come up a little cheaper after I purchased it so I recommend looking out for the deals too as they come on regularly. It's definitely worth it.Having owned the same style a couple of times now, I can say they last a long time, definitely durable, as long as you keep on top of cleaning, they will last. Absolutely stunning design and lights up beautifully.Update to say -This kettle has an issue with lime scale build up. It seems to collect quite badly in comparison to the older design, however, you could use a water filter to help combat this, I use a zero water filter with mine, this helps. The kettle has also on and off been whistling at high volumes when using, that has stopped at the moment which is why I haven't pursued a return, that and I don't have a spare for the time I will have to wait for another kettle.I do think this is a cheaper model compared to the older one, with the filter being plastic and the older model being metal, that was disappointing to find, but it works the same, I just think the price could have been a little cheaper due to this.If youre looking for an aesthetically pleasing to look at kettle, then this has it all. It does need a filtered water to prevent build up of limescale.

Loved the look of them when they first arrived. Looked very good in my kitchen.However .............The toaster needed to be replaced after only a month and hardly any use. The locking down mechanism had stopped working. The replacement toaster has an un-straight 'Tower' sticker on it, which stops it looking classy. The whole toaster seems very flimsy.The kettle - liked at first. However, now not impressed. I live in a hard water area so a filter is needed. The filter in the kettle only covers half the spout. This means any limescale buildup can get poured into your cup. This could be stopped if the filter covered the whole area.For the money paid i would NOT recommend buying this toaster/kettle set.

As pretty as this looks, dissapointed with how flimsy and cheap it feels. It does have the 45 second fast boil for one cup which is fine if I'm in a rush for work and the husbands already away. All in all, there are better and sturdier kettles on the market. Feel it is overpriced for what I got. Came in the box with no extra wrapping etc but thankfully royal mail had taken care and the box was fine and all inside content. Not sure how long it will last, I'm am very sceptical with the cheap quality but here's hoping longer than a year I got from my SMEG that was over double the price and had started to leak just over a year.

Loved the look of this kettle, with 3KW fast boiling it was perfect but...The design and build quality was poor. We had this replaced and each time the same issues were obvious. On arrival the Tower lettering was already peeling off. The plastic wrapped around the bottom half wobbled when touched, so felt cheap. And to top it all off, it always leaked because there's a bump between the spout and the glass so water leaks out unless you pour it slowly enough that it would be room temperature again!Such a shame as looked lovely.

Very pretty kettle. Nicely balanced when holding, rapid boil, non drip lip, lovely pink light and glitzy rose trim.I do use a plastic jug to fill it with as the flip lid doesn't open wide, but this is just my preference.The first kettle I ordered had a faulty base, but I was sent a new one by return of post, so im happy with that.Lovely kettle, im very happy with it
