I had some left over CAT6 cable from wiring my house, so I decided to purchase these RJ45 connectors to make some extra ethernet cords. I only had two break out of the 42 cables I made, so 42/44 isn't a very bad success rate. There was some learning curve with the passthrough form, mostly with how much you actually have to mess with the wires to make sure they are absolutely straight before you even attempt to put the connector on. I think the passthrough is just a little more challenging than the 2 piece version. Make sure you have a decent crimping tool, the cheap one I had didn't cut the passthrough off so I had to manually cut the extra off.

These open-front "pass-through" RJ45 connectors are fantastic- if you're not using them, you should be.The pass-through design makes it super easy to see if you have the wires in the correct order and it also ensures that the crimp connector will grab the wire correctly.I struggled forever getting reliable connections using the regular style connectors, but these open-front connectors make terminating RJ45 cables ridiculously easy- you get a perfect connection every time.I don't give many 5-star reviews, but these work so well and make such a difference when wiring Ethernet cables that it's well-deserved. I purchased these connectors to use with a Klein Tools VDV226-110 Crimper. They work fine. Pushing the wires into the connector in the right order takes a little patience and practice. And pushing the the outer jacket beyond the strain latch takes some force but it does fit snugly. I consider these connectors to be a good and cost-effective match for the crimper.

I am a licensed electrician and sometimes I perform custom network installations. Since I only do a few a year I am not efficient with terminal connections. These connectors decrease the amount of time that it takes me to make the connection and my testing is always perfect. I would recommend these to anyone who isn't a full time network installer, but they can use them as well. Great product and smooth transaction.

I have used a different brand Cat5 pass through connectors and find these Cat6 connectors easy to use and very well designed, got good transactions connectability first time. These connectors require a good quality cut off type crimper. The one I bought years ago for Cat 5 works very well.
