Great XL Fryer
I used to fry our Thanksgiving turkey the old-fashioned way - out in the back yard over a propane flame with a large pot of oil. In spite of my best efforts, the oil almost always boiled over when I put the turkey in. And it was always a huge mess to clean and maintain and store the giant pot. This year I decided to splurge and get this electric fryer. I went for the largest model since we tend to have a lot of people for the holiday and we want a large turkey. In the morning we fried up some Beignet donuts. The in the afternoon I fried up a 20 lb turkey. Everything went perfectly. I could heat the oil to the exact desired temperature. I didn't have to go through a lot of machinations to figure out how much oil was required. And the next morning (after the oil cooled) we were able to drain it back into the original oil carton and clean the unit pretty easily (cleaning a bunch of oil is never "easy" but it was much, much easier than in the past). We were even brave enough to cook the turkey in the garage. And now that I've done it once, I would have no problem using it in the house. The unit is pretty large for our small kitchen though. We store it in the garage. So be sure you have room to store this beast when you're not using it.If you want to fry a turkey (or anything else), this is a great purchase.

Good product
We felt safe using this fryer- we were warned by all dont think you are ever cleaning this thing... i thought we will! No this and all of them are so full of grease and grime after using nobody is cleaning this thing- not even the most frugal of our friends have stuck with cleaning- its a one and done- not sure if we will buy another next year- maybe- but advice do not do a farm bird- we picked up the turkey at the farm and found out that earl the bird was 23 lbs... we hacked off the legs and fit the bird as best we could 🤷♀️ If we do next year we will season more- do much smaller birds and do 2. Oh and we did make a traditional oven bird the week before for gravey.

Easy to use.
Had on before. Left if where I was residing didn’t make an issue to get it back. But this makes it easy to fry a turkey. No propane no external flame. 4 mins per pound to cook a turkey. Make sure turkey is wiped dry season the outside inject it with marinade wipe excess and fry.

Quit working in the middle of first turkey.
Looking forward to cooking my first deep fried turkey on fathers day, 20 minutes into a 12 pound bird the deep fryer quit working. Lost everything, I have power to the cord but all the displays are out and it quit cooking.Absolutely not happy. I bought this brand based on the recommendation of a trusted friend and great cook who was raving about hers, but she has had hers for a couple of years. Depending upon manufacturers response to this I may provide a future update and maybe change rating.UPDATE: One week later after going through return process I am changing my rating from 1 star to 0 stars, ( I know this is not possible on the rating system but it is in my opinion).Seller ( VM Express a third party seller, not Amazon) only offers a refund and expects you to pay for shipping to return a defective item. When I made the purchase they took my money in like 15 seconds but tells me they will refund my money 2 weeks after they receive the defective product that I had to pay shipping for.Butterball, (manufacturer) only warranties their item if you buy it directly from them and then would charge you for any replacement parts.Amazon stepped up for us and gave us a $15 credit after we contacted them, I sincerely appreciate that because it was not their responsibility.I am truly dissappointed because I thought Butterball was a reputable company.I am still searching for a good deep fryer if anyone has any recommendations.

Great!
My dad had one and I decided to get one and I love this thing and fried my first turkey. It’s great! I watched a couple how to videos and did it and it was so simple and easy to clean.

Love it!
I've had this now for roughly 3 weeks and I've cooked 5 turkeys with no issues. Assembly was extra easy as well as cleaning. Extremely satisfied with this purchase!

It’s ok
Hard to keep at temp. Maybe because it’s 3 gallons
