Simplicity is the key. No timer to worry about, saving money. Face the sensor South East, if possible, and you have feed when you can see, AM or PM. This unit needs only a metal funnel which you can get right here at Amazon. Throw away the piece of plastic that comes with the box.....or the squirrels will do it for you and you won't see any corn in your can when you get back to it. Another way to prepare for longevity is to replace the steel 1/4" clamping hardware with stainless (nickel) bolts, washers and wing nuts. I first hang the unit from a branch at home and coat the entire thing with a clear enamel spray paint. This keeps the whole thing from rusting out in the weather over time. I've had 3 WGIs for 2 years, hanging from painted trash cans and never had to change anything but the batteries, (rechargeable of course). YES, the squirrels still manage to jump up and hang out under the cans and eat the corn on the (metal) spinner plate, but the steel funnel keeps them from damaging the important part and losing the entire load of feed. Prepare, don't repair.

Feeder worked vary well until a bear discovered feeder. Bear destroyed feeder photo cell and feeder would not function for obvious reasons. Tried to contact Wildgame innovations customer service on three different occasions to get replacement photocell part. No response from customer service . Wildgame Innovation feeder are a good product BUT their customer service is a BIG Joke.

This is a no frills feeder. If you want simplicity, this is it. Feeds dawn and dusk only which is fine with me.Loved the metal construction. Would be better if the funnel were metal but at this price I can’t complain.

I modified this feeder by removing the photocell and replacing it with a timer. Also, added a motor speed controller and so far it's working great. I'm sure the warranty is invalid, but who cares. This company doesn't back its product any way.

Wild game innovations does a great job making products that last. This may not have all the bells and whistle’s of some feed spinners but it’s made right and built to last. Easy install with all the hardware included.

I have had digital feeders that lasted only 6 months this one has out lasted the others and the sensor works good I can set my watch to it. Cloudy, sunny does not matter, goes off around the same time each morning and evening

Been working good for month now.No issues.Got tired of messing with timers.

The Timer broke after 1 year on my Quick Set 225 Feeder, I unscrewed the old one and replaced it with this one. Works great so far.
