This is a fantastic guitar.
This is a fantastic guitar. Very well made. Plays smoothly as expected for a PRS guitar. However, inspect carefully..Had to return due to a groove or small split on the right side of the fret board radius running from 1st to 8th fret. Very noticeable on left hand index finger when playing bar chords. Probably occurred after leaving the factory in Indonesia. May be a result of temperature or humility changes during shipping.

Guitar itself is the best playing I've ever owned
The guitar had an odd and distracting mark in the front if the body. Guitar itself is the best playing I've ever owned. But this lack of attention on the body is concerning

Love It!!!
I've been playing guitar as a hobby on and off for the past 25 years and I decided that it was time to find a new guitar to tinker with. I heard a lot about the PRS brand guitars, but I didn't want to break the bank, so I was pleasantly surprised to find the PRS SE Standard 24 at $499 . I tend to play jazzy/fusion style music, so If you enjoy a nice crisp clean jazz tone like me, you will appreciate the nice warm tones that this guitar offers. add in a little gain/overdrive and you have a rich smooth tone for soloing. I did have some issues with the tuning at first but it appears that the strings have settled in better now. Overall, if you're looking for a decent guitar to start with or just want to change it up, you cannot go wrong with this gem at this price.

just beautiful. The guitar tuned up quickly
I was pleasantly surprised with the details this model 24 came with. I was not expecting the Paul Reed Smith signature on the head stock. The crème binding was also unexpected , just beautiful . The guitar tuned up quickly. The neck was perfectly straight with no axial or torsional issues , just perfect. The controls , volume , tone , pick up switching is smooth as glass. The action is low and easy to chord. My only concern is the weight of this wonderful beauty, just a bit heavier than I like, but installed a wider padded strap to return the comfort. Will I keep this guitar ? No, I will not keep it. I will set it up for my oldest Granddaughter to give to her later . Thank You PRS for this well made instrument . Dave.............

Out of tune
Even with a set-up, new strings, I could not keep this guitar in tune. Was very frustrating. I sent back for a Telecaster.

The King is Dead. Long live the King.
I've been playing guitar for more than 20 years. I've owned Fender Stratocasters and Fender Telecasters. I've owned Gibson Les Pauls. I've owned Ibanezs, Jacksons, Schecters, and a host of others. The SE Standard 24, out of the box, out performs all of them. The tremolo on this guitar is so responsive, if I was blindfolded I would think I was playing a $1500+ guitar. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be to play one of the top of the line American PRS guitars. I was Gibson guy, but not anymore. Paul Reed Smith. The King is Dead. Long live the King.

Amazing Guitar!!
Sound and feel on this guitar are incredible. Its a great guitar for anything from soft rock to heavy metal. Lucky for me, the action was setup just the way I like it (pretty low) right out of the box. It comes with a brown PRS gig bag with decent padding. Also, the vintage cherry color looks even better in person! Would definitely recommend this guitar to anyone looking for excellent feel and playability at an affordable price.
