Equal Parts Sweet and $exy
Overall Grade: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2“‘But I want you, only you,’ he says, his voice hushed and sincere. ‘If you’ll have me.’”You could say that I’ve been ALL IN with Kendall Ryan’s Hot Jocks series. From Justin and Elise in Playing for Keeps to Owen and Becca in All the Way to Teddy and Sara in Trying to Score, I’ve read them all (as an aside, to date, Owen and Becca own my heart). And through this all, I’ve fallen further into Ryan’s world of hockey superstars and their sassy, intelligent heroines. There is something here for everyone in this series: best friend’s sister, second chance, friends to lovers, etc. Through all of them, I’ve celebrated their highs and mourned their lows, falling into their stories and their romances. Kendall Ryan’s newest book, Crossing the Line, is no different. It is more of what you love about Ryan’s storytelling: great dialogue, off-the-page chemistry, $exy hero, and sassy heroine. In this book, all of this is wrapped in the cover of a friends-to-lovers story. If you’re like me, and you’ve read this series, then you will absolutely love Asher and Bailey’s story, and here’s why:*For one, this book gives us a bit of a break from the hockey world. In this story, we are treated to a getaway to Asher’s grandmother’s home in San Diego. For this California girl, I love when my home state is featured. It reminds me of everything I love about where I live, and Ryan chose one of my favorite places. Since this is set in a beach city, we get Asher and Bailey in swim gear, which is chemistry gold. Both of them are instantly attracted to each other physically. That’s easy in this story; that’s Ryan’s capital in this book.*Because Asher and Bailey are easily attracted to each other, the central struggle with this pair is crossing the line of friendship and professionalism. To be honest, though, I struggled with the depth of that line. I think the worry about professionalism is insignificant since Bailey isn’t really Asher’s nurse or doctor; instead, she is his friend with some nursing skills that help him. The line, then, is clearly friend-related, but even this isn’t a huge imposition. Their friends have waited for these two to acknowledge their interest, and they are hugely supportive of it. The challenge of this romance lies in Bailey’s ambitious life. That is where the angst of this story resides, and the best part of Ryan is she doesn’t make us work too hard through it. She presents it as the tension of the story, but she relieves us of it fairly quickly, which means most of this story allows us to enjoy these two falling for each other. They are funny together; they are comfortable with each other; and they grow more respectful of each other. This makes Crossing the Line equal parts sweet and $exy.*Asher’s family is another key component of Ryan’s story. I love it when grandmothers and grandfathers play a part in matchmaking. Ryan builds the character of Asher’s grandmother so well that you find yourself laughing at her one moment and wishing for a hug from her in the next. Ryan’s use of Asher’s family becomes a huge part of Asher and Bailey’s relationship growth. Without them, these two would still be docked. Instead, his family offers Bailey opportunities to see Asher as something more than her casual hockey-player friend. It humanizes him in her eyes, and this becomes the foundation for their romance. It’s a key quality of Ryan’s story, and she shows her storytelling prowess here.Kendall Ryan’s Crossing the Line is more of what you love about her Hot Jocks series. In fact, in my mind, it’s tied for second place with Playing for Keeps behind Owen and Becca’s All the Way. Where Justin and Elise are salty together, Asher and Baily are sweet, a nice dessert in the Hot Jocks series. If you’re a fan of hot hockey players and the strong, intelligent women who fall for them, then you want to read this series, and Asher and Bailey have definitely left their mark in it.

So fun!
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**Crossing the Line is the fourth book in Kendall Ryan's Hot Jocks series and while this is part of a series, all of the books can be read as stand alone's. With that said, you should consider reading them all because this is one fun group of "hot jocks"!Asher is recovering from both a concussion and a groin strain that he got in one of the teams latest games. Bailey is just about to enter her residency to finish up her studies to become a doctor. Asher and Bailey are part of the same friend group and have spent plenty of time together, but not a whole lot of one-on-one time, however that is about to change.Asher has a family reunion that he'd like to attend, but the team says he has to take a nurse and he is not about to take a stranger to his grandma's house. When Bailey offers to go, she figures she can help take care of her friend and also get a free trip to sunny California. What ends up unfolding in California is super entertaining. Not only are Asher and Bailey fighting the feelings they are beginning to have for one another, but Asher's grandma, mom and sisters are also getting in on trying to get the two together. Asher is absolutely awesome. He's sweet, attentive, and not to mention swoonworthy as all get out. Bailey gets to see a different side of him as he spends time with his little nieces. Bailey is not only smart, determined and intelligent, but she's also falling in love with Asher's family! The question is, once the week is over and they go back to "real life" will they be a couple or was this just a quick vacation hook-up?I loved this book and how it all played out. It was a so fun to have all of Asher's family be such a part of the story and his grandma and her special juice made me smile. Do yourself a favor and pick up this really entertaining tale!

Funny and flirty with a strong female lead
'Crossing the Line' is another fun and flirty installment of the Hot Jocks series, courtesy of the supremely talented Kendall Ryan. It’s funny, steamy, and features a strong female heroine and a hero who isn’t afraid to go after what he wants.Professional hockey player, Asher, and doctor, Bailey, have always been friends. However, everything changes when Bailey offers to help Asher monitor his concussion and groin injury so he can travel to visit his family. As their undeniable chemistry comes to the fore, Asher will have to prove to Bailey that he’s fully committed to her, and Bailey will have to decide if their connection is powerful enough to withstand exterior forces.Holy steaminess, Batman, this novel packs a plethora of swoons. Illicit hookups in a family bathroom? Check. Witty banter with loads of sexual tension? Check. A slow burning friends-to-lovers extravaganza? Check. Check. Check. This was a delight to read… it’s low stakes and 100% entertainment. And there’s a little bonus scene that is so brilliant, I laughed out loud. For me, Kendall Ryan is always an auto-buy, and 'Crossing the Line' does not disappoint. Add to your TBR pile immediately, and go ahead and pre-order book #5 in the series (featuring a virgin hero!), 'Down and Dirty.'

Cute but honestly I wish it ended a lot better same goes for the other books the bonus chapter didn’t do enough I wish there was more but anyways such good book and I love that you use a hard driven working women and hard driven working guy for this book. That made it so different from the other books and that’s one of the reasoning why I loved this book

Enjoyable
With Asher recovering from an injury at a family event and Bailey there to assist in that recovery the sport side to this romance took a back seat. Instead, their story became about a friendship becoming more during a light-hearted and fun family event. Thus, the story was sweet, carefree, fun, and flirty.Asher and Bailey were really well suited for each other and I liked the progression of their relationship from friends to more. The sneaking around to get in some time together whilst they were surrounded by his family and the openness, they both had to being intimate with each other made parts of this story steamy. Combined with them getting to see and know one another in a totally new way, Bailey being accepted in the family, and the humour that some of Asher’s family brought made this an enjoyable read.Again, like with the series, there was little to no drama and the writing and pacing of the plot made the book the flow in way that worked well with the overall feel of the story.

Are we Ruled by our Head or our Hearts
Unfortunately, after professional hockey player Asher Reed suffered concussion and a serious groin injury he is told by his coach that he cannot play for a whole week. And forced to take a hiatus, he can only go on vacation or visit his family in Colorado if can get a nurse to go with him. Obviously, to monitor his recovery and give Asher any necessary treatment.Fortunately, one of his friends Bailey Erickson, who happens just to have finished medical school as a doctor volunteers to go with him. Bailey is smart, gorgeous and petite. And Asher is delighted for her to accompany him. But does he have feeling for her? And how will Asher's family react when he introduces Bailey to them. Will Bailey develop feelings for handsome Asher after being in such close proximity to him? Or will she try to keep some distance as she still has to finish her internship. Well, the only way to find out is to read the book yourself.

A fun, low angst and sexy tale.
Crossing the Line is the fourth book in Kendall Ryan's Hot Jocks series, but what is brilliant about them is that they can easily be read in any order or even as complete stand-alones. As each one features a different couple connected to the same Ice Hockey team, and this time it's the turn of the charming Asher and his friend/medical student Bailey. And honestly, it was such a fun, low angst, and sexy tale. That was packed full of feels and wonderful characters as Bailey kindly agrees to accompany the injured Asher home to Coronado Beach and a family reunion where she encounters all of Asher's extensive family including a spunky grandma called Lolli and three very interested sisters. Not to mention some single male cousins who would very much like to get in Bailey's pants.Would recommend.

An enjoyable ice hockey romance
An enjoyable ice hockey romance. No high drama and pretty tame in the sexy scene department but all in all an enjoyable read. Bailey Erickson is about to start her residency in her Doctor training and has no time for a relationship. Asher Reed is a play boy hockey star, sidelined by injury. A week alone with Bailey and his family has him thinking of the future. The characters are all good and likeable in this series, they have good chemistry and good fun storylines.
