Practical for outdoor survival.
Fortunately there and had the need to use it, the truth is that it is better to have it on hand in case of any fast food and hot. I currently use alcohol with a kitchenette and works like a charm.

title....
I bought two of these for a motorcycle trip I took back in June and they both held up very well. I used them for all of the cooking and heating the entire time. The black paint flaked off after about the 3rd use but thats ok. I used those little gel fuel tabs with it. Just broke off a little put it on the bottom and covered it with sticks and bark. The stove kept the flame going nice. Definitely recommend this one.

It's "ok"
I thought the pricing for this item was pretty decent, I wanted it because it didn't take up much space and I could fit fuel cubes in it (turns out it can fix 6), and if I ran out of fuel cubes I figured I could use it like a mini wood burning stove, just put it upside down, start a fire underneath with natural materials and put a little pot or pan on top, perfect right? Most likely only in theory. It is flimsy, when I took it out of the box and started opening it, motion was not smooth, and even being careful I could feel that too much pressure would make it bend, the metal moved really easy, also the little metal eyelets look pretty thin and fragile, I find myself already trying to figure out what im going to do to replace them when they break (if I don't buy something sturdy or make my own similar device).I really like the design itself, but the "product features" a rugged steel design. The box it came in said steel plating. If there is any steel in this thing at all it has to be some sort of minimal amount with as weak and malleable as this thing feels.I bought it to shove in my bugout bag which I also camp out of , it's thin and lightweight, but far from sturdy, and I am very curious and a little concerned about how much heat it can take before it starts warping the metal, not to mention they wasted their time painting it because I took it out of the box and the CARDBOARD rubbed some of the paint off.I suppose I will have more to say after I use it firsthand , but at the rate things are going I may test it out with a fuel cube as well as a little kindling and such before I even think of taking it out camping with me and I will definatly keep everyone updated.I gave this item 2 stars because the design and idea I like, but the material and workmanship in holding it together I find to be lacking.I know it's a pretty cheap item, and people are usually happy to say that for the price its a good item, but when I read rugged steel design, I expect it to at least not bend.As it stands before testing, If you are looking for a portable stove type device to use more than once or twice for a good price, If you happen to have one and you put it in a bugout bag, take it out and find something better.*edit*Ive used it twice now, the first time it seemed to work out just fine, a little residue from the single fuel cube I used, just used it a second time today, again, used a single fuel cube, and I have to say, its possible some warping occurred during the first use, but it definatly jumped out at me today after I used it again , it's thin, and susceptible to heat. I thought that I might be able to use it as a mini stove setup using small bits of wood and tinder but after using a second ever fuel cube on it id have to say there is no way I would bother. It would be great if it was made out of iron or steel, I would gladly pay twice as much if it were (even though I think the price as it is, is overpriced for the material. It's a great idea overall, but unless they make it out of something more heat resistant and sturdier, you are paying for a gimmick that lost it's potential in production.Which leads me to unfortunately lower my rating of this from two stars to one, because im not paying for what this "could" be.

Portable 'Commando' Cooker
I have yet to find a product that met the criteria I was looking for. This one, it seemed, might get close to what I wanted to do, if I had two of them. So I ordered two. This design, I assumed, might work as I preferred if I were to stack two of them, thus creating an elevated 'fire box' and a fairly decent place to set a pot. With a small amount of coaxing the two pieces fit nicely together, one on top the other looking like they were meant to be that way. Built a 'twig' fire on the bottom piece. The holes in the platform make for a nice draft and keeps the smoke down! It didn't take long, I didn't time it, to get water to boil. The rectangular hole no created between the two pieces makes a nice place to stoke the small fire and to add more twigs. Not sure I'll ever use this item, but with two of them they are far easier to use and you don't have to drag the 'fuel things' around. Biggest problem is that one is almost acceptable as far as size. Two really eat up space in the pack.

great product. I was concerned that the lightweight metal ...
purchased one for our son last Christmas for his hiking bag, bought another one for my b.o.b. great product. I was concerned that the lightweight metal would warp once we built a fire in it, but it holds its shape very well.

I received my portable commando cooker today and I am really happy with it. It was actually better than I thought it would be. Great Job. I can hardly wait to test it out.
