The New Testament: A Historical Introduction to the Early Christian Writings

Excellent reexamination of the New Testament writings.
I am sure there are many people who will be disappointed in this study of the New Testament. I read his 5th edition and was delighted with his interpretation of events, possibly because I was raised a Roman Catholic who was told not to read the Bible because I wouldn’t understand it correctly. Of course I read it. It is so enlightening to entertain other points of view of these approximately 1800 year old writings that have had such a major influence on middle eastern and western culture for centuries.

A text for the aging armchair student.
The New Testament by Bart Ehrman is a textbook for college students and is written for that group so it's fairly easy reading and Ehrman, in writing for those students, is a delightful teacher. The text is full of facts, illustrations, sidebars and other features to bring his reading alive and interesting.

Kindle version is absolutely unreadable.
This is a great book! I have the paperback version, but it's unwieldy trying to read it in bed. I was excited to see a Kindle version of this excellent version...until I tried to read it. Half the text on many pages is missing, the chapters are broken up into different sections that make no sense. They may be Kindle's attempt to split up the boxes in the book, but they're unreadable. Hyperlinks don't work. Book is completely unreadable.

DO NOT BUY KINDLE EDITION - Unreadable
In the Kindle edition, the lines are scrambled. Each individual line makes sense, but if you try to read the next line, it's actually not the next line. I tried to work with Amazon customer service to get the problem addressed, but they didn't do anything, and now it's too late to return the book. Fail from the publisher, fail from Amazon.

Atrocious formatting makes this unreadable
Completely unreadable because of the formatting. One line per page, in apparently random order. I have tried it on Android, iOS and PC (and yes tried restarting each device and re-downloading).
