Better than pencil grips!
I bought these for my 1st grader who holds the pencil will all five fingers to help him have a better grip that would not hurt after writing for a while. These are a great guide for young ones. I have tried several others but they still allowed him to hold the pencil wrong because there was more than one way to hold them. With this, the three fingers fit into the cups, (thumb is largest marked with a "T") and comfortably positions the fingers where they should be. These will work on pens, pencils, mechanical pencils, crayons, forks and spoons, and anything you would want to slide it onto. The rubber or silicon material is flexible enough to stretch over all of the above listed items. I am very happy with these and will order more for the children's teacher to keep in class!

get a grip
I teach preschoolers with special needs. I have tried just about every grip out there. My favorite used to be the crossover grip pencil grip, but students did not always like it. The other grips, we - the adults- would position their fingers on the grip and some would use it and some would resist. The OT suggested these and I was skeptical. (I also seemed to recall something like this in an uncomfortable plastic) They seemed flimsy and I thought the children would break them easily. She gave me one to try and it worked. Here is the amazing part. The students, except for one (the one the OT suggested it for of course) loved it. I ordered a pack of 12 and the students requested them AND learned to position their own fingers. One student with a weak grip and low interested started requesting to do the writing practice on the ipad with the stylus using the grip. Although the app had been a motivator for some of my other students, this particular child had no interest. The child also started willingly using a pencil with the grip. I have arthritis and tried it myself and found it did make writing more comfortable. So far (6 months and 12 kids) none have broken. I am not sure if that is because the students are more careful because they like using it or if the material is stronger than it looks. Either way, I am planning to order more in the fall. The students are requesting them on crayons and I am tried of constantly changing them over. I would also like to give them to a few parents. Seems a bit pricey for what it is, but I am paying for a design I cannot make myself. I ordered only medium and that worked for all of my 3, 4, and 5 year old students except one (the one that did not love it, probably needs a small).

OK
Works OK, but not comfortable for students to use. Little ones have a hard time getting theior fingers in it without help.

Great for building finger muscles!
An OT suggested this to help my daughter build her finger strength. We found it helpful and I think she thinks it’s fun to use :)

My favorite pencil grip- works with pens and pencils of varying sizes
This is my favorite grip for my daughter as it fits on all pens and pencils because the centerpiece stretches. It also does a good job of forming a natural grip, and my daughter feels that it is comfortable. We had to start using it in first grade and I didn't really address issues of grip early enough (live and learn!). In second grade she's been able to write without it when given gentle reminders to reposition her fingers. It leaves me suspecting that using this grip in first grade helped train her fingers to be more comfortable in this position. I'm not sure if she'll need these for the long haul, but it's nice to know that if she reverts to her preferred grip she'll be able to use these if it causes her any discomfort.

Great for fine motor skills
My son has a fine motor delay. He will be starting kindergarten this fall so I needed something to help him with his fine motor skills. After researching a lot of different products, I found these. The price was good and I sprung for it. They came five In a package, in red and blue. We've had a little trouble getting the hang of using writing utensils, but obviously that's not the fault of this product! It's actually helped him a lot. We will keep practicing. So glad to have found this product. Anything that pushes him in the right direction is great. If you're looking for some, thing to truly help your child write, try these. You won't regret it.

These work just how you'd want them to.My son prefers Penagain twist and write pencils because with this product he gets annoyed when he has to erase something and needs to take his fingers out of this grip, erase something, and then get his fingers repositioned. For a 6 year old who likes to erase every little thing, this is a BIG deal. He choose those penagain twist and write pencils over a pencil with this grip every time.Having said that, I love that these work with any pencil and pen and colored pencil! If you have a kid who has a "wrong" grip you know that a lot of times (all the time in the case with my son) as soon as they get an ulaltered writing tool like crayons or markers they go right back to their poor grip! I'm going to put these pencil grips on some colored pencils for when my son colors little pictures, give him extra practice with a correct grip while he's having fun coloring.

Pricey, but works great!
My 5 year old was struggling to hold his pencil correctly, he just didn't seem to get it. His teacher tried broken crayons (you have to hold them correctly because they're small), different grippers, thick pencils, etc. When I found these, I figured they were worth a shot, despite seeming expensive. They work awesome! I sent them to school with him and the teacher emailed me the same day asking where to get more, she's been a kindergarten teacher for 30 years and wanted more for her other students that are having difficulty. I do wish they were about half the cost, as they seem pricey for a piece of rubber, but it's worth it if it helps the kids!

Awful and simply waste of money

Finally something that's helped.
These are great they really helped my sons 7 and 5 get a feel for how to hold the pencil, these pencils have helped make their work more legible but there is still a lot of work to go. These have been a great first step though. Arrived quickly and are well made.

This is a hopelessly useless product. Sheer waste of money.

Artificioso
