A fun read
Not exactly spine tingling, but it does get you to think. Maybe there are things out there that we don’t understand.

Short stories but entertaining
The stories are only around 3 or 4 pages each but I have enjoyed them. Nothing too heavy, just short fun ghost stories.

Mediocre at best
I bought this guy's entire series of these books and they *are* mildly interesting, but they are so amateurishly done that they were almost a chore to get through.Every one of the books is absolutely riddled with typos and grammatical errors. There was clearly not even the most basic proofreading or editing done before these were printed. They were obviously self-published and -printed, but even so, Jesus, spend at least THIRTY SECONDS looking them over for errors. Thankfully, they're all very short--basically pamphlet-sized.To top things off, he gives out one of the books--the one on Black-Eyed Children--for free as a link to a PDF that he puts in every one of the other books, but then he ended up later printing and selling THAT book too. So for someone like me who bought all the books at once--including that one--I ended up paying for a book that I could have gotten for free. Really, dude, if you've already given something out for free to everyone, you don't then SELL it a few months later as a greedy tactic to get just a bit more cash. All in all, they were ok books with a some interesting tidbits on the paranormal, but the slapdash way they were put together took a lot of the enjoyment out of them.

good stories
A good selection of scary stories! I'd like to see the next edition expanded a bit with more stories, though--the book's a bit on the short side (only 89 pages) and there were 2 or 3 instances where there were a few grammatical "oops" (still an enjoyable read, though)--so minor it probably takes another writer to notice...

Good, creepy ghost stories
A thoroughly enjoyable read, though it could use some better editing. The stories are themselves creepy and written in a compelling way. Will have to check out some more from this author!

Spirits are really here.
Written extremely well. Makes you believe and you want to know more. Do you believe? You should. We're not the only entity here. All of Zachary Knowles' books are real. Enjoy!!!!!!

The creepiest of the series.
This is the 8th book in this series that I have read and it has by far the creepiest stories. I read A LOT of ghost stories and watch all kinds of horror movies, I don't scare easily. Most of the stories were pretty eerie but two stories in this book actually gave me shivers, "The Grey Man" and "The Keyholder". These two really spooked me but the other stories are definitely worth reading too. The format of this book is different from the others by Mr. Knowles. This is straight up stories similar to his book about Black-eyed Kids. The others books in the series usually have some historical anecdotes about the place being discussed.

Utter waster of money
I had high hopes for this book.I love a good ghost story and thought ,foolishly as it turned out, that this one might hold more credibility than most because the tales were said to come from real Police Officers. Well ,how wrong could i be? By the third tale I realised that the so called ‘true stories ‘ were all just made up drivel ! Dead bodies clawing their way out of body bags and imploding houses? Come off it ! What a total rip off ! No effort was even made to make the tales sound even remotely plausible. Do not waste your money on this book of you are looking for tales that even MIGHT be true.

A Very Short Book
Do not buy this book if you are wanting to sit back and have a good long read about so called true incidents that put the hairs up on your neck. It is only about 0.25 inches thick and consists of 92 pages of quite big print and only 82 pages are actual stories. None of the accounts are more than 5 pages long and none gave even a shudder never mind a fright. As a retired copper I was hoping to read some accounts of the experiences of other officers in the UK but most of the stories were from the USA and were very poor on detail. The book is now in the waste bin.

Needs Editing - Awful Grammar
The stories are interesting. But the grammar is horrid - wrong words used, words missing, wrong conjugations etc. . In places, it reads like a first draft. This book would really benefit from a copy editor, or a proofreader who understands basic grammar rules, because the author obviously doesn't.I returned the book for a refund. I had highlighted some of the worst blunders in the book, but since the book has been returned, I can no longer access it and so I can't show the examples. All I can say - they were awful, and many.

Perfect book full of creepy short stories!
I love a good ghost story and myths of urban legends. I believe in the paranormal. This book was a really enjoyable read. Some of the stories were very creepy and at times spine chilling. I love that each story is only 4-5 pages long. It’s the perfect book for when it’s raining and chilly outside, you can curl up beside the fire with a blanket and creep yourself out. The only pitfall was the occasional grammatical error but this down to the printer/publisher not the author. I have ordered more books from this series. I can’t wait to read them!

Creepy and suspenseful
An enjoyable read when you want to be creeped out, are alone, and mostly in the dark. Excellent if you’re by yourself and go to bed directly afterwards. It’s also a fairly useful sourcebook if you’re researching ghost stories. I crossed checked identifiable cases and found fairly reliable resources.
