This will be a major resource book for my library. I have a farm where I grow over 500 varieties of herbs. I sell to herbalists and people looking for plant medicine. Having this book on my shelf will help me to access information fast. It is very organized and information is easy to access. The only drawback is there are no pictures. The sections on western, Ayurvedic, and Chinese medicine introductions is excellent. The Materia Medica index is very useful. Each plant description includes a TCM pattern and Eclecti Pattern. Also includes use, contraindications and traditional dose. This book will be a go-to book as I am learning the herbs.

Sansone on the book 300 herbs of Matthew Alfs.Mr Alfs did a big favour to the medical world by publishing his experience /collected material in this comprehensive, extremely practical guide.I have many herbals but this one is in "daily use".I am a physician with many years of practice in phytotherapy but learned and am learning a lot of this herbal.Highly recommended and indeed a must for anybody dealing in this field!A well edited/readable kindle version would be welcome as well![for quick search]

Great book. Very complete and very thorough. Definitely one of my go to books in my herbal library. You can't beat the clarity at which the information is presented.

We reference this book a lot in my herbalist class. Great reference for someone new to herbalism.

It's a very helpful book. I was disappointed that some of the herbs I use quite a bit were not included. Other than that, I think the book is very ueseful and I have referred to it quite often already.

This book has A LOT of information. I like that each herb is classified by their Chinese/ Ayruvedic properties. As in each herb is described as hot/cold, moist/dry ect. Not really for the beginner herbalist, but is a nice reference resource.

The book was torn up around the edges. I understand that it was used but the price was way too high for a torn apart book. Other than that the information inside is invaluable.
