Photo isn't same as what is shipped!
Photo of hinge I ordered looks much nicer than the one I received which looks much cheaper and made of steel though not sure about that. It does adjust similar to the one in the photo with an allen wrench in the center. Also, fooled me into thinking I'd get two hinges due to it saying comes with two brackets in the extended description rather than the two end brackets that are already attached in the photo. The end brackets come separate and must be attached (requires considerable force to get them to snap together as it uses a plastic compression housing insert. I wished the hinge looked nicer like the one in the photo but it'll do the job. Comes with absolutely no instructions but basically you just flip the hinge depending on what side you want it mounted on.

Great Lid Stay
I bought these after trying the spring loaded stays from Rockler. The Rockler stays wouldn't hold the door I was using so I decided to try these out. These worked perfectly. No instructions come with them. I just used a wedge to open my door to where I wanted the final open position and clamped the cabinet side bracket to the cabinet, pushed the door side bracket to the door and marked the holes for the screws, pre-drilled the holes and screwed it in. The adjustment took about 15 seconds to get right. I had to use the strongest setting for a 16" x 42" x 1/2" birch plywood door that is set in a vertical position to act as an overhead bin. I was worried that there would be some torque created using the stay on only one side, but the hinges deal with it with no deflection at all.

Can't Figure How to Make it Meet Its Claims
I searched for and found the documentation for this item because the item was shipped without documentation. I followed the installation diagram I found on Selby's website but it didn't work. After drilling two sets of holes into an expensive chest I gave up on the diagram and figured it out on my own.I still can't find documentation on how to make them right side stays. I wanted both left and right, but again, after drilling a couple of mistake holes, I gave up on the right side.I will say, on the left side only, it functions well once I figured out how to install it, but following the instructions left a very nice piece of furniture marred with unused drill holes on both sides of the chest lid and chest sidewalls.

Be careful
This device works as advertised, BUT it does not have a positive locking mechanism when it is open. Meaning, if there is enough force on the lid you are supporting, it will give way...suddenly. I have a scar in my nose to support this assertion. While I can't entirely blame the Lid Stay, the lack of a positive locking mechanism makes this a dubious proposition for anything kids will be dealing with. When it releases, it does not come down slowly. The description says you can stop it at various positions between open and closed. That doesn't work for me. It's either closed, or open (and now, with a bungee attached to make sure it stays open).

pricey but you get what you pay for
I built a dresser with a built-in hamper with a drawer face that folds down at a 60 degree angle to access the hamper. Initially I bought some $5 hinges from HD to keep the drawer face from just flopping down. These $5 devices didn't work well at all, so I invested big bucks in these delta lid stays. The are definitely pricey, but they are well built and work great to control the 60 degree hamper door opening. My drawer face weight is about 15 pounds; I used 2 delta hinges and they work great to keep the door aligned and control the opening. These same delta hinges are available at Rockler, but much more expensive

Be warned, what you get is not what is pictured
Be warned, the item shipped is not the item pictured. The one shipped is some Italian brand that does not have the little reversing tab so it can"t be used for drop-down applications. Also, the brackets are much (much) larger and need at least #10 (maybe #12) screws to hold them in place. Also, the overall look is much less finished that the one pictured. If this is your only purchase, then maybe the above isn't a problem. If you have other lid stays like the one pictured and you want to match them, or if you have a drop-down application, then this isn't the product for you.

Why no mounting instructions?
i don't understand why it ships without installation instructions. I'm trying to find some by google but no lck so far. Obviously, some people intuitively figure these things out, but i don't want extra holes in my cabinet because my first or second try didn't work properly

Good Ikea replacement
I was looking to replace an Ikea Ferrari lift assembly but the only company that sells them that I found is in England and doesn't ship outside of their country. These are working great, although I couldn't use the original holes for the brackets because the bracket dimensions are not exactly the same as the Ferrari brackets and wouldn't allow the lid door to close properly.
