Easy-to-Make Storybook Dolls: A "Novel" Approach to Cloth Dollmaking (Dover Crafts: Dolls & Toys)

This book is older but has some good information for beginning doll makers. The clothes patterns are helpful. Simple and classic for soft sculpture dolls.

I am getting into doll making and I found this book to be quite helpful and at a very reasonable price. It not only has patterns for the dolls themselves but their clothes, and provide generic patterns to help you design whatever you fancy. I found very helpful tutorials for customization of faces and application of various hairstyles.I received it well within the scheduled time and it honestly looked brand new - not a hint of being used at all.I tend to check Amazon for most of my purchases because of their stand by their customer until you are happy purchases, and they are able to offer a reasonable market.

Storybook Dolls is just great. The patterns are simple to cutout and very easy to make. The costumes are so pretty and easy to sew. Any child that would receive these dolls would be very lucky. Who can resist giving a living princess a princess doll? I recommend this book to any mom/grandma/great-grandma who likes to sew, buy this book and make the dolls. You will be rated as the "BEST" loved.

Compared with the "SEW A SMALL DOLL AND HER CLOTHING" book written by this same author my coments are:1. The body construction in this book is easier2. I preferred the outfits of the above mentioned book3. Both have easy following instructions

Worth a look if you're into doll making. Dolls are very sweet. Well written with good instructions. Dolls and their clothes are easy enough to make.

Simply Great! The Doll paterns are much larger than I suspected. My Dorothy Gale doll has come out fantastic looking. Hopefully she will do a Alice from Alice in Wonderland. Simply great and well written. I'm officially a fan now.

I love this book because it shows simple dolls that look professional when completed and are wonderful for gifts for little girls who can use their imaginations with them. Pictures and instructions are beautiful and straightforward.
