Engaging for my 7 and 9 year olds
Although my older child is reading much bigger books on her own, I read to my kids (just turned 7 and 9) at night and I was looking for an engaging book (or series) to read to them. So far, the Ivy and Bean books have been the only books to keep even my attention, so this was a great find. My kids can't wait to hear what happens next. The book has humor and moments of learning which are great additions to the compelling and unique story. I hope the others in the series are equally engaging.

Great children’s book
I bought this book for my 7 year old daughter (1st grader) during quarantine when Libraries closed. Before the lockdown we would go to the library and on the way home my daughter would have finished 3-5 books before we even got home. So I had moved her up to chapter books that could challenge her more and keep her engaged. This was perfect. There are a few works she didn’t know how to read or what they meant but it was the perfect opportunity to expand her vocabulary and teach her new words. My goal was to get her to read a chapter a day she loved it so much she would read 3-4 chapters in one sitting.

Great read for elementary school kids
This book could be easily read independently by a 2nd-3rd grader (though for 2nd grader could be a bit lengthy), but it so happens I read it to my 7-year old. And guess what? We both had tons of fun! The author has a great sense of humor, the story is fast-paced and easily kept my son's attention. The only thing I could complain about is the name of the series - unicorn rescue society. Initially, my son was quite sceptical because the title seemed too "girly" to him. ;)

It’s not a very good deal.
Beautifully illustrated, hard cover book.It came as part of a bundle. Subscription, I should say. It was not a “read alone” level for my grandchild. Be careful on ordering for bundles.

Hard to put down!
This was a favorite at our house. The only complaint was that the story was so interesting, I couldn’t get my son to agree on a stopping point. Whenever I’d say we’d stop at the end of a page or chapter, he’d beg to keep going. First time ever!!

Gripping for my 6-year old
I skimmed this book, buying it based on the great reviews, but barely got a chance to take a look before my 6 year old dug in and ravenously consumed it. We have already gone to the library for the next couple in the series.

6yo can’t put it down!
My 6yr old is positivity obsessed with this book. We have tried to get her to read chapter books before but she quickly lost interest. Not so with this one, we had to tell her she had to stop reading and go to sleep last night. She was so proud to tell us she was on chapter 5(after an hour). She immediately got up this morning and wanted to read more. Thanks so much for a can’t put down book!

Awesome story 6 year old loves it!
Purchased this book and the 2nd book for Easter basket and my daughter loves them. The short chapters are great and really provide a sense of accomplishment as she progressed through the book. She read the first on in a day and couldn't wait to get started on the 2nd. Will be getting the rest as she loves to have the stories with characters she knows.
