I’m taking a star off because this mattress pad is not true to size. The dimensions stated don’t match the product received. Mine runs small, but others have complained theirs were too large. Maybe mine is a mislabel or a factory defect?Aside from that, I couldn’t be happier with it so far. It’s a bit firm (fine by me) and does have an initial barnyard scent, but I was expecting that from a wool mattress pad. The smell didn’t bother me and it didn’t last long, maybe a few days.This pad keeps the bed warmer even when no one is in it, so that it’s not such a cold shock getting in at night. It warms quickly once you’re in bed as well, and within a few minutes it’s nice and toasty.Our mattress is foam underneath so it used to be shockingly cold at first and then sweat inducing a few hours later. This mattress pad solves both of those problems. If you’ve also made the mistake of buying a foam mattress, do yourself a favor and put something less volatile on top of it.I went with this product over others because the price was more affordable than most but the manufacturers still seemed to care.

I bought an extra firm mattress since my husband has back issues and I am currently dealing with SPD from pregnancy. I figured I could always make the bed softer if needed. We currently have this topper and it adds SOME softness, but may not be noticable to some. Without it, our bed would probably be uncomfortable. I chose this so I don't overheat (compared to foam toppers) and so far, so good.

If you are expecting a real softening of your mattress, look for something else. It does give a slight different feeling to the mattress, but only slight, I kind of wish I splurged on a thicker one. What I do like about it is it says it's washable, is not too heavy or bulky and does not have an odor AT ALL. I am very very sensitive to smells and this does not smell in any way. I have a Sleep Number that I should have returned (any softening by releasing air just makes you feel like you are sinking in a hole) which I have added an organic latex pad on top of, still too hard, and now this on the top of that. What I like about my latex pad is that it helps with allergies and I am hoping this wool will continue as it says it is dust mite resistant, so that I do like. You may like over a memory foam mattress if you want to block the smell or "sinking" feeling or don't like hotness of MF. To me this is not really cool but it is cooler than MF. I also hate the smell of MF. I have only had a few days.

My baby is 5 months old. We bought this when she was 3 months and have seen a drastic improvement. At the time she was still sleeping in the bedroom and dream feeding through the night as it was the only way to get her to sleep at all. Now that she's eating some food she's been taking longer naps. She's even letting us put her in her crib.Before this we would put her in her crib and maybe get an hour or so of a nap IF she didn't wake up immediately. Now she's able to go 6 hours sleeping in her crib. We've traveled and used a pack and play or when she's been in the crib at her babysitter's house she only naps for maybe an hour.During the last overnight visit she woke up every couple of hours, but will sleep so long at home with this pad. Best money I have ever spent, even though it was more expensive than what I have on my bed. I'm contemplating shelling out the $400 dollars for the one that fits my bed. These are magic!!
