Arrived quickly. Quality paddle. It was a gift for my son-in-law to use stirring maple syrup into maple candy/sugar. He needed a sturdy paddle that wouldn't break under the pressure of stirring hot maple syrup. He loves it, longer than the paddle he had and much stronger. He's looking forward to many years of use. Would definitely recommend this paddle to anyone looking for a well made, sturdy paddle. Also love the hole for hanging up.

Its big!!
It was a gag gift for Christmas. My husband got a huge soup pot and we got this as a joke saying he'd need something that big to stir the pot. It is well made though and probably useful in a commercial kitchen making big batches of something.

Well made.
Nice and stiff. Doesn’t bend like plastic. Didn’t want ss which could scratch brew pot.

4.5 stars out of 5!
We ferment food for our farm animals, specifically our entire flock of chickens and ducks. Having to ferment 3-5/5 gallon buckets of feed at a time, and stirring with any other spoon, was causing strains. My husband started using a picket from a fence, but I wanted to get him something that would really make his life of stirring easier.Finding this paddle on Amazon was THE most awesome thing I could have gotten him. It has made making fermented food SO much easier. The stirring goes faster, it's less strain on his arms and back, and it rinses easily. My ONE complaint, was that the paddle came with small issues, that required some sanding. It didn't take but a minute or two, but the paddle came stained. It shouldn't have.

No splinting!
Strong hard wood that didn't release splinters in soup! Used to stir two 40 quart pots of Gumbo.

Good if its for a one time use.
I purchased this to stir boiling tomatoes to make pasta sauce. This paddle is made from a very soft wood (Poplar or Aspen?)The wood does not appear to be sealed. It is composed of 2 or 3 wood strips glued together to create the overall width of the paddle. The wood strips on the one I received are not of the same thickness leaving a 1/16" ridge across the surface of the paddle. In addition, I have serious concerns about the longevity of glued wood used in a boiling liquid application.I would use this in the garage, barn or workshop to mix feed, grains, epoxies, mortar etc.I would not recommend it for kitchen use for stirring heated food products.

Not worth the money.
I was disappointed that this paddle was not made from a solid board and it was cracking on each side where the handle curves into the paddle part. Not worth the $.
