No, I don't seem to push and pull. I have it adjusted to my specs and I don't do much adjusting and the person in front has not seemed to mind. I think it would be hard for a large person to use this hammock. You will need to be flexible and have the ability to flex you hip and knee to get your feet into the hammock.

I am 5’9” tall with long legs. It worked fine for me with my feet only about an inch from the floor. It depends on how tall you are from your knees to your feet and how far from the floor the tray table is. The strap is completely adjustable, so unless your legs are extremely long, it should work for you.
