Fish friendly jaw opener for Pike or Musky
A jaw opener is a really helpful when practicing catch and release with these toothy fish. The stainless wire should prevent rust and the non-pointy tips of the opener will not cause damage to the fish.

They work great!
These are good quality spreaders. It's important to know that the spring tension can be adjusted to make them stronger by simply pulling the arms farther apart. I took away one star only because of the length. I wish they were a about 3 inches longer especially for larger lake trout . I use them for Northern Pike and they work great. I would recommend.

Great Jaw Spreader
This is a great jaw spreader. I was looking for one that didn't have the 2 sharp points when you unhooked it from itself and this was perfect.I found myself fishing in Wisconsin and if I used this on a northern when I needed, sometimes the other types that unhook from themselves would puncture the top and/or bottom of the fish and I didn't like that. This jaw spreader with the wide top and bottom and rubberized really solved that for me. I love this jaw spreader and would highly recommend it!

Very good!
Will hold a pike’s mouth open to let you get the hook out without having to get your fingers so close to their teeth! Worked the best for us going in from the side!

Spring tension
Broke on the first pike

Not very high spring force
This seems like it would work for smaller fish, but I don't think it has enough spring force for a large pike or musky. I like the shape and rubber coating to avoid harming the fish, but I plan to return it.

Easy to use and they work pretty good
I have had a couple pair of jaw spreaders before but I don't remember what happened to them. This was a set of 4 - I kept two - gave my fishing partner 2. They work well enough, easy to use and they appear to be durable.

Serves it’s purpose!
Used one on a 17.5” pickerel, as the teeth were big enough to cause me the usual damage, had I stuck my fingers in it’s mouth. Kept the jaws apart and the teeth out of my skin. Made taking the hook out a tad more difficult, as it is in the way, somewhat, but the lack of blood spilled, on my behalf, made it worth while. Simple, low cost and effective. KS
