I'm a huge fan of the BB movie, but ...
I'm a huge fan of the BB movie, but this "graphic novel" just doesn't capture the quirky charm of the original. The dialog comes across as stilted and forced.

Great story and animation for the true Blue Blazers!

Captures the chaotic sense of being in the middle of a greater story, but the stakes feel very low
This collection captures the conceit of the movie — that we're in the middle of a longer series of adventures about which we know nothing. And the stories in this collection are not even contiguous in that series, so characters arrive and disappear without warning. Secrets are revealed without ever having been established as mysteries to begin with. It worked for one movie but by the third time, it's gotten a little old. The main characters (protagonists and antagonists both) from the movie all appear in this collection at one point or another, but we learn nothing more about them and it all seems a little thin.

Blue Blazers unite and buy this book.
So Buckaroo Banzai and his amazing adventures ... was the worst best movie ever made. Did you yearn for the sequel? Well you can get back into the world of Buckaroo here (albeit in comic format). This piece of work loving recreates the vibe and world of the film. perhaps a bit too lovingly, but lovingly none the less. fun.
