However, after a quick call to SAS's customer service they did send me a medium size "gratis" though it took several months. Nonetheless, the "strapping harness" that affixes to the back of your cranium and over the ears was "workable and adjustable enough" that either size did eventually fit quite well.A testament to how well this was designed in the first place!If you will be doing ANY kind of work involving cement and/or concrete cutting, power sawing or sanding where the consequence will result in any fine particulate matter made w/ power tools etc. (in my particular case- the need to cut a square hole in my cement basement floor for the installation of a sump basin and pump after the last "Noah's flood" here in August in NYC; literally 8" of rain in one hour) THIS mask is an ABSOLUTE MUST! Regular N95 or KN95 masks will "wither and fail" in comparison and concrete/cement/stone dust is incredibly debilitating to the lungs. Once inhaled, it does irreversible damage because the particulate is so extremely fine and trust me, you don't want silica dust (or any kind of of dust for that matter) in your lungs thus making the very reasonable price of this mask IMPERATIVE even IF you're only going to use it once.However, if you are like me and you putter around the house (I own a circa1901 Brooklyn brownstone) with normal maintenance that requires a grinder cutting through some old pipe or metal strut or even sawdust from wood, using this mask IS a much better alternative. It is usually a must to use safety googles when doing such tasks which, unlike the multi-layer paper based "N95's" will FOG UP due to the condensation of your breath. This SAS Bandit safety half mask is quite comfortable to use and after a while you will have to stop and wipe the bottom half of your face as it will be moist to say the least, but I consider this thing the best "compromise" of all scenarios AND you will most definitely save your breathing passages and lungs efficiently and correctly!Hey folks,...I spend a small fortune in time, energy, and moola in trying and using stuff that I buy here on amamzon so, if this review was HELPFUL....well, you know what to do! The mask works very well, especially for scale model car painting as what I do do by this product you will not be sorry and the price is very, very fair I believe

I've been using this model (or as close to the original as they make now) for at least 15 yrs. The fitment really depends on the size of the unit. Improper sizing will not seal correctly. It was hard to actually get the correct size because of availability but I finally got the medium size that fits for me. The main thing to remember is using the correct filter(s) for the job. That said it will never compare to an air supplied hood for day to day use but if you're only using it for a limited time span and have adequate exhaust coupled with the correct filter(s) you'll be protected and safe. Always keep your filters, the inside, and the seal CLEAN. REPLACE the filters regularly and at any sign of odor and you'll be using this unit for years to come.

Fits well and highly adjustable. My face is a medium/large size and I had no issues. You can feel some resistance while breathing through the filters.I was doing a large amount of sanding and couldn't smell the wood so I'm pretty confident that these filters do their job.

These work great for painting would definitely get them again if I needed them

My husband is a farmer and when he is shoveling or unloading grain this is what he uses now. He was getting cold like symptoms when he would be breathing the grain dust. I bought this to see if it would work as good as some of the expensive masks with shields that are heavy and you get sweaty - which you can't even stand having on after a short time in a hot and dusty grain bin. He was not happy to try another kind BUT he liked it so much he now has one in the tractor and one in his truck.Edited: We recommended this years ago and just threw away our first one (4 years old) as it became brittle. We changed filters after it looked bad and these have lasted longer than we thought. We just bought 2 more as we like this product so much.

I was looking at buying some filters for my old respirator and was just as cheap to purchase an entirely new unit. It feels comfortable on my face and seems to do a nice job.

The Bandit masks (I've used before) are pretty good... I use 'em for spray painting small projects and cleaning with bleach. I had to return my recent order because the Amazon listing describes the mask as size large... the Part # shows SAS 8661-93 (large) but Item # shows 8661-92 (medium)... they sent a medium and I need a large... I guess they sent whatever was is stock!
