1,000 Conversation Questions: Designed for Use in the ESL or EFL Classroom

This book is, as others have commented, a compilation of questions. That's it. There's a very basic introduction with some general tips on running a conversation class, but it contains nothing new or useful to me as a first-year ESL teacher. This has saved me the trouble of compiling lists myself, and it's not an expensive book, but some of the questions are a little stagnant.

It appears to me that this is an essentially edited version of a number of websites where you can find conversation questions. They re not difficult to find by googling the aforementioned. I prefer to do my own editing if I have the time. If you need something quick and don t want to think too hard about the questions most appropiate to the class I would recommend the book

A wonderfully straightforward little book to get teens and older students really talking in depth in English about themselves and the world around them. Nothing banal about tbe questions with topic categories tallying perfectly with all B1 to C1 topics covered in Cambridge exams. Great for supporting the often limited speaking sections in standard textbooks. Buy this...great price too.

Really useful resource, though you do need to tailor it to your student(s), as most teachers would anyway.

Useful and takes some of the hard work out of thinking up conversation subjects. Some of the questions I don't use as I don't think they would take the conversation very far, but there's a good range to choose from anyway.
